Casey Abrams of 'American Idol' to Sing Despite Hospitalization

On Thursday night's 'American Idol,' Casey Abrams made the cut as a season 10 top 24 finalist. Sadly, he watched that episode from a hospital bed after being admitted Wednesday for stomach pains. For the past two days, it's been up in the air whether he'd be well enough for Friday's taping of the top 12 men's performances.

Luckily for all of his fans in American, Abrams has been released and will be able to tape. "He is performing tonight," a source close to the show tells PEOPLE. "He had some stomach pains but he will perform."

As the first contestant in the history of 'Idol' to perform with an upright bass, Abrams has separated himself from the pack as one of the more unique contestants. "I don't think we've ever seen a musician as talented as yourself," judge Randy Jackson said on Thursday's episode. "It's like three people in one."
