Nicole Scherzinger: An "X Factor" Shoe-In?

Her looks and personality would make her perfect for the job and, rumor has it, Nicole Scherzinger has landed the hosting spot on the upcoming show “The X Factor.”

The former “Pussycat Dolls” singer was reportedly brought in to try out for a judge position, but once Simon Cowell witnessed her “natural ability” in front of the camera he offered her the hosting gig.

An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper, “Never has there been so much behind-the-scenes wheeling and dealing as with 'X Factor' USA. “Having lined up Nicole as a potential judge, Simon decided to try something different and unexpected, and have a non-mainstream presenter present.”

“Nicole's had screen tests and is a natural in front of the camera. Autocue does not faze her at all. As an established singer, both as a solo artist and in a group, Nicole will be great with the contestants and knows what she is talking about.”

“The approach was made a few weeks ago. And although she has still not formally signed, it's all looking very positive,” the source added.

Nicole Scherzinger Likes to Tease Cowell

NICOLE SCHERZINGER LIKES TO TEASE COWELL
Nicole Scherzinger likes to tease Simon Cowell about his ''powder face.''

The "Don't Hold Your Breath" singer - who worked with Simon on the UK version of "The X Factor" as a guest judge and is hotly tipped for a role on the US form of the show - enjoys a great relationship with the music mogul and particularly enjoys watching him have his make-up put on.

She said: "I have a great relationship with him, we have a blast. I have so much fun teasing Simon we hang out."

"He has what I call a 'powder face.' Whenever the make-up artist puts a light coat of powder over his face he leans back, closes his eyes and relaxes like he is meditating. He's very peaceful."

The 32-year-old beauty is currently dating British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, and when the pair enjoy some time together they love eating and "get crazy" having a games evening.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I don't have much down time but when I do I love to cook for him. I make this dish my family in Hawaii make, oyster chicken - it's been in the family for years."

"It's chicken, lots of vegetables and rice, so it's really healthy. If I wanna get crazy I'll have game night. We play 'Cranium,' 'Taboo' or cards. I can kick a*s but Lewis is pretty good at cards - although he's pretty good at everything."

Prosecutors file appeal notice in Anna Nicole case (AP)

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County prosecutors have filed a notice that they plan to appeal a judge's decision to throw out drug conspiracy convictions against Anna Nicole Smith's boyfriend-lawyer and psychiatrist.

The district attorney's office filed the notice of appeal with the Superior Court on Friday. A spokeswoman says the appeal will be filed at a later date.

In January, Judge Robert Perry threw out convictions against Kristine Eroshevich and Howard K. Stern, describing the prosecution's case as overly complicated and not supported by sufficient evidence.

The ruling cleared Stern of all charges and left Eroshevich with one misdemeanor conviction. Smith's primary care physician, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, was acquitted of all counts.

Smith died of an accidental drug overdose in February 2007.

There are some things that come easily for Nicole Kidman – for instance her ability to tap into a character when the cameras are rolling. But when it comes to motherhood, the Oscar winner – and current best actress nominee – says there is something she has always struggled with.

The mother of four, who just welcomed baby Faith on Dec. 28 via a gestational carrier, says she has "had a roller coaster ride with fertility."

"Anyone that's been in the place of wanting another child or wanting a child knows the disappointment, the pain and the loss that you go through trying and struggling with fertility," the Rabbit Hole actress, 43, tells Australia's 60 Minutes in an interview set to air Sunday night. "Fertility is such a big thing, and it's not something I've ever run away from talking about."

It's a struggle that dates back to her marriage with Tom Cruise – whom she divorced in 2001 after adopting kids Isabella, 18, and Connor, 15. In 2007, the actress revealed she had a miscarriage before they split.

After giving birth to daughter Sunday Rose, now 2, her first child with husband Keith Urban, Kidman says the couple used a surrogate because of her fertility struggles.

"We were in a place of desperately wanting another child," she says. "This opportunity arose for us, and I couldn't get pregnant."

Now as the family settles down in their homes in Nashville and Los Angeles, Kidman says she enjoys time with all of her kids equally.

"Children are children – you'll die for your children," she says. "And when you feel that as parent – that's the unconditional love."
