"The Kennedys" Gets a Brand New Trailer

With the series premiering on April 3, a brand new trailer for “The Kennedys” has hit the web.

The upcoming miniseries boasts the beautiful Katie Holmes as Jacqueline Kennedy and Greg Kinnear as former President John F. Kennedy.

The show will premiere on ReelzChannel, as it was dropped from the History Channel shortly after its completion.

A rep from the History Channel told press, “While the film is produced and acted with the highest quality, after viewing the final product in its totality, we have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand. We recognize historical fiction is an important medium for storytelling and commend all the hard work and passion that has gone into the making of the series, but ultimately deem this as the right programming decision for our network."

Trailer Park: Cougar Hunting, Female Surfers and Ed Helms’ Face Tat

Posted 2/25/2011 at 1:00 pm by Tyler Trykowski

In this week’s titillating Trailer Park, we use a thesaurus to learn exciting new words for “sexy,” then Ed Helms from The Hangover busts in with a brand new face tat and redefines the entire meaning of the word for us. Then female surfers do the exact same thing, except they do it straight to DVD, which makes it less sexy, but still a lot sexier than the MILFs of Cougar Hunting, who actually just end up teaching us what “desperate” means. This week’s edition is packed with more vocabulary words than your average episode of Sesame Street, with at least double the sexy action.

Blue Crush 2
Sharni Vinson, Elizabeth Mathis, Gideon Emery

We already knew that hot chicks who surf = box office returns. What about hot chicks who surf… straight to DVD? No, that doesn’t work the same way. Soul Surfer is one of those movies you settle for, where you’re at the ticket counter and you really wanted to see Juno 2 or whatever but it’s almost sold out and you don’t feel like craning your neck from the front row of the theater, so you settle for hot chicks in bikinis. Same principals don’t apply at Best Buy, when you’re shopping for DVDs. Early market research (that we’re kind of making up) indicates the number of consumers who will actually head to a retailer solely to purchase Blue Crush 2 will be: 5, 5 consumers. Which is the same number of consumers who actually liked the original Blue Crush and bought it on DVD. So there’s a market here, at least.

The Hangover 2
Everyone from the first one, plus a Monkey

Oh hell yes. Ed Helms with a face tat? Check. Drunken adventures in an exotic foreign country? Check. Monkey humor? Check. Please give us one possible reason to not like how this looks so far, because we have none. Honestly, you could probably put Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifinakis together in about 14 more sequels to this and they’d still be hilarious. And they will, no doubt, because that’s just the natural way of things, but who’s complaining? You? Yeah, you? What’s your deal? Lighten up, man. Just look at that monkey! The inevitable poop-throwing jokes are going to be historic.

Cougar Hunting
Matt Prokop, Randy Wayne, Jillian Murray

If you’re desperate enough for tail that you and your buddies decide to take a roadtrip to Aspen, Colorado to go “cougar hunting,” you’re doing it wrong. You probably smell like the crushed-up Fritos you rolled over and slept in last night, and maybe you should consider brushing your teeth. But then again, lots of women make a career out of sleeping with wealthy men, so… gender equality? You get yours, bros. Just don’t get that Fixodent on the nightstand confused with the lube, because that just makes for a sticky situation. Not that we’d know or anything.

'Apollo 18' Trailer Premieres Online

Everybody knows that man last set foot on the moon in 1972. The brand-new trailer for "Apollo 18," which premiered Friday on Apple.com, asks the question: "Why haven't we been back?"

From director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego and producer Timur Bekmambetov, the trailer for "Apollo 18" mixes what appears to be archival footage of early space shuttle launches with "Paranormal Activity" -style "found footage" of a secret 1973 mission to the lunar surface, supposedly kept hidden from the public because of what the astronauts discovered.

"In the years following [Apollo 17] there was unconfirmed intelligence of an 18th mission," the trailer reads. "No evidence has ever been found. Until now."

Although not made explicit, the "Cloverfield" -style flick showcases several alarming incidents in its trailer, including a number of shots where it's clear the astronauts are not alone on the seemingly barren and deserted satellite. One particularly jarring shot shows one of the astronauts infected to the point of possession; another shows several non-human footprints in the gray lunar dust.

Conspiracy theories aside, and depending on your perspective, there actually was an Apollo 18 mission. Launched in 1975, the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project was a joint mission between US and Russian forces, officially and symbolically ending the great space race of the preceding decade.

The alternate history story is the English language debut of Spanish auteur Lopez-Gallego. Released by Dimension Films, "Apollo 18" will hit theaters April 22.

'Hangover Part II' Trailer Drops Next Week, Todd Phillips Says

After the record-breaking success of "The Hangover" and the endless speculation about where the sequel would take place, after the casting gossip and the Mel Gibson controversy, after the first photos and the behind-the-scenes set visit, we're about to get our first peek at actual footage from "The Hangover Part II."

"We have a teaser trailer that I just finished color for yesterday night, so that'll come out next week," Todd Phillips told MTV News on Friday (February 18) while promoting the DVD release of "Due Date." "And I think it comes out in theaters on 'Hall Pass,' which should be next Friday."

It can't come soon enough. The film hits theaters May 26, and up until now, official glimpses at the production have been few and far between. The only reason for the dearth of Warner Bros.-sanctioned material, though, is that Phillips and friends didn't wrap production on the flick that long ago.

"We've had, like, one photo out, and that's just because we finished shooting on New Year's Day, and the movie comes out on Memorial Day," the writer/director said. "It's really just a crazy-tight schedule."

While Phillips wouldn't dish details about what we'll actually see in the teaser, he did emphasize that fans should temper their expectations: The footage will hardly offer a comprehensive dive into what the film is all about. "It's truly a teaser, so it might end up frustrating more than solving questions," he told us. "I love it. It's a true tease, if that makes sense. It's just one of those things that's gonna make you go, 'OK, let's see what more they have.' It's to pique interest and to remind people what's coming down the pike."
