Vince Vaughn to star in "Insane Laws" for Universal (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Universal Pictures is in negotiations to pick up "The Insane Laws," a relationship comedy that will act as a starring vehicle for Vince Vaughn, who is based at the studio with his Wild West Picture Show production company.

Jeremy Garelick wrote the script and will direct the project, which would reteam Vaughn with the man who co-wrote his 2006 hit, "The Break-Up."

Based a bit on Garelick's own life, "Insane Laws" focuses on two best friends and how their lives are impacted when their grown children fall in love, with one man's daughter becoming pregnant by his best friend's son.

Originally, Columbia Pictures picked up the script in a hefty seven-figure deal in 2009, with Garelick on board to make his directorial debut.

Vaughn is coming off his latest relationship pic, "The Dilemma."

Garelick broke into the business as an assistant to Joel Shumacher before going to make a name for himself in the writing world.

Motley Crue's Vince Neil Begins Two Week Jail Sentence For DUI

Motley Crue's Vince Neil Begins Two Week Jail Sentence For DUIThe party's over for Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, who turned himself into Nevada's Clark County Detention Center earlier today.

The rocker arrived at the correctional facility to begin serving a two-week sentence for DUI, TMZ reports. Neil was arrested while driving his Lamborghini near the Las Vegas strip in June 2010. Despite declaring his sobriety only a week before the incident, tests revealed that Neil's blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit when he was taken into police custody.

Neil pled guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence in a Las Vegas court in January, admitting in a statement, "I have recognized that you can't drink and drive at all."

Ironically, only months before his 2010 arrest, the singer wrote in his memoir, 'Tattoos & Tequila: To Hell and Back With One of Rock's Most Notorious Frontmen,' "There's just a point in your life where you kind of stop, that's what happened with me ... There's other things in life than just drugs and alcohol."

Following his incarceration, Neil will spend 15 days under house arrest.
