Britney Spears Takes the Stage in Las Vegas!

Making her much-awaited return to the stage, Britney Spears offered up a comeback performance in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday night (March 25).

Held at Rain nightclub inside the Palms Hotel & Casino, the pop princess was all business as she worked the stage with her dancers while performing three songs for a crowd of nearly 700 fans in attendance.

Among the highlights, a scantily clad Spears belted out her hit single "Hold It Against Me" while giving a smooch to one of her backup dance team members in the midst of the song.

Being taped for an MTV special airing next week, Britney also treated the audience to renditions of "Big Fat Bass" and "Till the World Ends".

With the show coming just ahead of the March 29th release of her new album Femme Fatale, Miss Spears tweeted just before the gig's kickoff, writing, "Can't wait to take the stage again at midnight...." She added, "Pumped! Here we go people... -Britney"

Songwriter Claude Kelly Helps Britney Burn It Up With 'Gasoline,' Says Christina 'Will Be Fine'

When the track listing for Britney Spears' upcoming album, 'Femme Fatale,' was released earlier this month, fans got more insight into the hotly anticipated record. Hotshot songwriter Claude Kelly is one of the names attached to the March 29 project, and according to the in-demand talent, who wrote Spears' 2008 comeback hit 'Circus,' fans can expect an even more upbeat and sexy Spears.

"I wrote this song called 'Gasoline' for the new album," Kelly tells PopEater of the Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco-produced track. "Britney went in and knocked it out in one session. I'm really happy with the record because she sounds happy. The melody is slick and very fun. I love Britney's attitude, and there's a real sex appeal to 'Gasoline.' It's one of those sexy pop records that Britney's great at doing."

"She sounded clean and energetic. She was able to do those signature ad libs that makes it a classic Britney Spears record," he says. "It's reminiscent of the fun feel of her early albums. When you close your eyes you envision her dancing along to the song."

Kelly is also hoping to get back into the studio soon with longtime collaborator Christina Aguilera, who was recently in the news after being detained for public intoxication. Kelly believes, however, all the talk of a troubled Xtina heading for a rehab stint has been over-the-top.

"I've spoken to her," he says of the powerful vocalist. "She's about to do this big singing show called 'The Voice.' I think the media has been making a bigger deal out of things. Christina's a fighter. She has had a few stumbles, but everybody does. It's just that she's in the public eye. But she usually takes those types of situations and turns them into huge musical moments. I'm working with her again, and I believe she's going to turn all of this into a record that the world will love. I have no doubt she will be fine."

Memo to 'Miserable' Justin Timberlake: Beg Britney Spears to Come Back

justin timberlake britney spearsPop-Ed: We get it, Justin Timberlake. We know why you're miserable. One more night of couch-cuddling and Netflix-watching with Jessica Biel and you were going to go bananas. Caged birds must sing. Butterflies must be free. D***s must not be boxed (or so the song tells us).

But picking up random booty-shakers at the club and rocking their bodies till the break of dawn is going to lose its appeal over time. Then what? How long before you're spotted canoodling in public with another LA actress/hottie. You'll be walking her dog in the West Village. She'll be wearing a fun, furry hat (or maybe you will). She'll be cute-as-a-button, somebody like newly single Ashley Greene.

But you need to look a little closer at your past to figure this one out, JT.

You're having fun now. But it's going to get boring.

The cure: a sexy-hot firecracker with a crazy streak a mile long. Somebody who could turn your world upside down, who could go all Penelope Cruz in 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' on your ass.

Cancel the Netflix and call your ex, JT. She looks fantastic. She's got her life together. Great new album. No more mental head-shaving meltdowns. As for the fact she's seeing somebody ... come on, Jason Trawick? That's an Applebee's bartender name. There's only one JT for Britney, and it's you, hombre.

Sure, eventually she'll make your life tough. Worse than Jessica Biel could ever in a million years. That's because she's your soulmate, bub. Hate to break it to you. But I know it. Your fans know it. Even Joey Fatone knows it -- call him up, he'll tell you.

And down deep, I think you know it, too. I think both you and Britney know it. Don't fight destiny, JT. Do what you know you need to do. Hit that crazy one more time.

Peacock designer duo go from Bollywood to Britney (AP)

By SOLVEJ SCHOU, For The Associated Press Solvej Schou, For The Associated Press – Mon Mar 7, 4:06 pm ET

LOS ANGELES – Indian designers Falguni and Shane Peacock have busted out of Bollywood straight through to Hollywood. Their champion? Britney Spears.

In the video for her newest single "Hold It Against Me," the pop queen raises up her fists like Muhammad Ali and cat-fights with her doppelganger while sheathed in ornate outfits by the married design duo. Britney One is clad in a short black minidress encrusted with intricate fuchsia and red beadwork, feathered shoulders and a slinky red train. Britney Two wears a similar version in navy blue.

The video has been a high career point for the Peacocks, who have dressed everyone from Katy Perry, Fergie and Brandy to Nicki Minaj in their sassy, detailed, futuristic frocks in just the past year. The couple, who married in 2001, debuted their designs outside India about eight seasons ago at Los Angeles Fashion Week, and have shown in London for six years. At first, they mainly dressed Indian actresses. Then American stars caught on.

"It's so strange, to have one pop star after the other. Initially we designed for Fergie, for the World Cup, then lots of requests started coming in, especially in the last six months," said an exhausted Falguni over the phone from Mumbai, back in their home base after the pair showed their sleek, leather-heavy, biker-chic fall collection during London Fashion Week.

One catwalk look featured fingerless black gloves with spikes jutting from the back, and another had swirling gold beading contrasted against a sheer, black three-quarter length sleeve top. Western silhouettes meshed with Indian-tinged embellishments.

A few weeks earlier, the pair lay low in a small suite at a luxury West Hollywood hotel on the Sunset Strip. Stylists for singer Perry chatted around them, flipping through racks of colorfully sequined floor-length gowns and sculptural, encrusted catsuits, searching for costumes for a new video.

Falguni, small and quiet in person, and Shane, tall and dark-haired, once again looked zonked. A flight from L.A. to Mumbai lasts about 18 hours. Planning a line of perfumes, bags and accessories, the two see themselves as a growing global brand.

"On the plane we sleep. Because of that, it's hard to meet people. It's easier to talk on the phone," said Shane. "We are planning set up an office in New York and stay in New York for three months, then back in India, then back in New York."

Falguni envisions stores around the world.

"Having everyone wear our clothes, and not just the pop stars," she added. "It could be a more commercialized version. We know our strengths, what we can achieve."

Khanh T.L. Tran, a longtime writer at fashion-industry newspaper Women's Wear Daily, noted the Peacocks' appeal to rock 'n' roll elite, and suggested the couple definitely need to broaden their range to appeal to everyday women.

"The pieces, because of the vivid colors, lavish embellishments, do lend well to a theatrical production or a video or red carpet," said Tran. "But they should be careful because they don't want to be too Bollywood. They could translate the aesthetics to sportswear pieces. A T-shirt silhouette might be easier to wear."

Indian designers have just started to reach international acclaim, with the Peacocks in prominent company. Manish Arora, for example, is gaining attention for avant-garde, over-the-top neon creations worn by the likes of Minaj at the American Music Awards. Arora also was named the new artistic director of label Paco Rabanne.

The Peacocks remain committed to Indian traditions of handcrafting, and their garments are manufactured there. Certain dresses can take a few days to create, with five or six people doing the beadwork. That extra touch, as well as lowered production costs, could give them an advantage, said Tran.

Still, noted Shane, it took years to get to the point for the fashion community to view India as a creative hub beyond its production capabilities.

"It's very difficult to be from India or a small country. No. 1, they don't take you seriously, and No. 2, you have to work very hard," said Shane. "Half the time people in the fashion business don't take you seriously because you're from a small town. They ask, 'Do elephants roam on the road?'"

The couple's future will likely include dressing more A-list celebrities who love bright colors and blingy styles, but a more luxe collection in the works. They design their own prints, and architecture is a strong influence at the moment.

Interestingly, the women at the top of their wish lists to dress are not the sequined catsuit types: Faguni would love to see Queen Elizabeth II in their clothes, and Shane has his eye on a couple of prominent American women.

"I look up to Michelle Obama. She's quite a powerful person," said Shane. "We love to dress REAL women. In India, it's more about customizing. Women come in different sizes, different shapes. We would have to adapt to what they wear, their style, with Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey. We can't go overboard."

Nude Britney Spears Pics Could Bolster Bodyguard's Sexual Harassment Claims

Britney SpearsLast September, Britney Spears' ex-bodyguard Fernando Flores filed a sexual harassment suit stating that Spears made "repeated unwanted sexual advances" toward him; a claim Spears has repeatedly denied. But Flores is not going away quietly, and now says he has the pictures to prove it.

According to The Sun, the former bodyguard is claiming that Spears sent him x-rated photos last April, "exposing herself in a way that she clearly hoped would make him aroused," including "a few where she is naked."

"They are really explicit images that will likely shock and disgust the majority of her fans," a friend of Flores, 29, told the paper. "Fernando can prove the pictures were taken on her cell phone and sent to his mobile."

At the time the charges were made, a statement on her website read: "This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself," and later, the Department of Children and Family Services "closed the case without further action," citing lack of evidence.

Britney Spears: My Boyfriend Is Ripped!

Who would guess that Britney Spears prefers kicking back and watching movies with her boyfriend over hitting the club? According to the pop princess herself, she and boyfriend, Jason Trawick, are just a super normal couple.

"We're really normal," Spears told Ryan Seacrest Friday on his KIIS-FM morning show. "We just like to watch movies. We work out a lot. We love to work out. We do stuff together like that. We take walks."

Spears also told the radio show host that her man's abs are "definitely ripped. He just got on this health kick." Seacrest, who's been friends with Trawick for awhile, remembers when his physique wasn't so muscular.

"I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but I knew [Jason] when he was hairy and pudgy," Seacrest told Spears. "But now he's fit and he's got zero percent body fat."

"No," she protested while giggling. "He wasn't pudgy."

Spears' new album, Femme Fatale, drops on March 29--the same day as her much-hyped 'Good Morning America' performance. "It's, I think, my best work yet," she said about the album. "I love the album, I actually listened to it on the way over here. It's definitely something that you want to work out to. It's definitely upbeat. Will.i.am's on the record and I'm a dancer so it's definitely something I can work with. It's just really fun, it's a really really fun record."

Britney Ready to Quit Music

BRITNEY READY TO QUIT MUSIC
Britney Spears will quit music and become a ''full-time mom'' if pop stardom ever makes her unhappy.

The "Hold It Against Me" singer would be prepared to walk away from life as a recording artist if she becomes disillusioned with it and focus on raising her two sons, Sean Preston, five, and four-year-old Jayden James - her children with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

In an interview with V Magazine, she said: "I'll be a full-time mom, which would be cool. I'd miss my fans and all of the love the most, but I definitely would not miss having my picture taken everywhere I go."

One thing the 29-year-old singer loves to do with her kids is cook, and she says nothing makes her happier than enjoying a homemade meal with them.

She said: "I love to cook, especially for my boys. I also make a mean southern sweet tea from a recipe my mom passed on to me. It's really good. I love it. I make it for my boys all the time."

Britney - who endured a public breakdown in January 2008 and has been under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears ever since - also claims she made the decision to step away from the fame game years ago because she didn't want her children to be subjected to it.

She explained: "I think it's easier to let people in when you're younger, but when I became a mother I wanted more privacy for myself and my children. A life away from my life."

Britney Spears Strips Down For V Magazine

Britney Spears V Magazine Photos

Sultry and half-clothed on the cover of V Magazine, Britney Spears declares, "The b***h is back and better than ever!" The fierce pop singer, whose seventh studio album, 'Femme Fatale,' lands March 29, talks openly about her album, boys and fame, adding that she has moved past the media scrutiny that plagued parts of her career.

"I try to block it all out and not pay attention to anything they write about me in the magazines or online. I'm done with that," Spears told V Magazine. "I have learned to always stay true to myself and never let what other people say about me change who I am. It's a really important lesson that took me a long time to learn."

On her new album: I think 'Femme Fatale' speaks for itself... I wanted to make a fierce dance record where each song makes you want to get up and move your body in a different way. That's what I want from the music I listen to. This record is for the clubs, or something you play before you go out at night. It's definitely my edgiest and most mature sound yet.

Why she's more guarded about her personal life: I think it's easier to let people in when you're younger, but when I became a mother I wanted more privacy for myself and my children.

On her talents and interests that might surprise people: I love to cook, especially for my boys. I also make a mean Southern sweet tea from a recipe my mom passed on to me. It's really good. I love it. I make it for my boys all the time.

What she'd do if she gave up show businesses: I'd be a full-time mom, which would be cool. I'd miss my fans and all of the love the most, but I definitely would not miss having my picture taken everywhere I go.

Spears also re-tweeted Dr. Luke's link to snippet.

Though it was rumored 'Inside Out' was the second single off the album -- due out March 29 -- Dr. Luke is keeping fans in suspense.

Britney Spears Tweets First Snippet Of New Single 'Inside Out'

Just two days after Britney Spears released her highly anticipated video for "Hold It Against Me," the 29-year-old diva is back to give fans another treat with a brief snippet from her next single, "Inside Out."

"C'mon! Won't you give me something to remember," Spears sings in the barely 10-second clip, revealed by the singer and her producer, Dr. Luke, on Twitter.

"Baby shut your mouth and turn me inside," she crescendos.

For fans, the brief snippet is a welcome treat, but hardly a surprising one, considering that Spears teased "Hold It Against Me" in similar fashion for several weeks.

In an interview with MTV News, Spears' longtime manager himself, Larry Rudolph, indicated that fans were likely to hear another song before the March 29 release of Femme Fatale, the Mississippi native's first album in three years.

Of the song itself, which he would only speak of obliquely on Thursday, Rudolph had high praise.

"I don't think I've been this excited about releasing a Britney single in many, many years," he said. "It's that good. That's all I'm gonna say about it at the moment. I haven't heard a final mix of it, but I should get it in the next day or two. So far, what I've heard is just extraordinary. It really is amazing. Her fans will be very happy with it. I'm trying hard to get it out before the album comes out."

Britney Spears' Manager Teases Her Next Single

With a little more than a month to go before the March 29 release of Britney Spears' Femme Fatale, we spoke to her longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, on the same night her eagerly anticipated "Hold It Against Me" video premiered.

Rudolph revealed to MTV News during our "HIAM" live stream on Thursday night that fans will likely hear another new song before the album — executive-produced by Max Martin and Dr. Luke — comes out.

"We have a second song that I think we're gonna end up putting out before the album drops," he teased. "I can't say with 100 percent certainty, but I think we probably will. But we're talking about it now and it is a monster. It really is."

Rudolph has been by Brit's side since the beginning of her career, and he predicted that if fans love "HIAM," then they're in for a real treat with the next song.

"I don't think I've been this excited about releasing a Britney single in many, many years," he added.

Spears teased some upcoming promotional plans for the album last week during a Twitter Q&A. "I'm doing a lot of promo," she said. "There will be some major announcements in the next few days." She added, "I'm thinking about the tour right now and I would [love] to visit a lot of places I didn't get to go to on my last tour."

Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Is Her Ray Of Light, Manager Says

On Thursday, "Jersey Shore" star DJ Pauly D told us that Britney Spears' next album, Femme Fatale, is full of "club bangers." Her manager, Larry Rudolph, gave us even more specifics about the album when we spoke to him.

"In my opinion, this is her strongest album ever. It's somewhat of a departure from what she's done. It's more mature," he told MTV News about the March 29 release. "It's more of a dance record and this really is — and I was talking a lot about [director] Jonas [?kerlund] and coming to Jonas because of 'Ray of Light' — and this really is Britney's Ray of Light album."

?kerlund and Madonna famously reinvented the pop star into an earthly disco queen for her "Ray of Light" video in 1998. The Ray of Light album spawned a number of songs that were dance-floor hits as well as introspective. Madge worked on the album with Patrick Leonard and William Orbit. The album was recorded shortly after her daughter Lourdes was born, and while the lyrics are reflective, the sounds are electronic based.

While he didn't go into specifics, Rudolph did explain that the vibe of this first single and video may be a sign of what's to come on the album. "I feel like Jonas is a really good fit for her. They worked so well together so I gotta believe that they'll work again on this album project," he said. "I'm hoping that that happens and we do see more of that."

For Britney, working with ?kerlund was a passion project that, according to Rudolph, turned out to be an incredibly creative collaboration.

"She's always been a huge fan of his and his name has always come up. And there's always been something that stopped us from doing it, whether it be his availability or her timing, but we were really determined to make it happen this time," he said of hooking up with ?kerlund for the video. "He immediately had 20 different ideas and they got together and they talked about it and it took on a life of its own. We're really excited about it. In my opinion it's one of the top two or three videos of all time. It's a total departure for her. It's more mature. [There are] interesting things going on there that you have to dig deep to see."

Britney Spears' 'Hold It Against Me' Video: A Pop-Culture Cheat Sheet

On Thursday night, after weeks of teasing, Britney Spears finally revealed her video for "Hold It Against Me," a whirling, swirling dance explosion that features plenty of sass, swagger and exactly one flowing white gown.

The Jonas ?kerlund-directed clip also features plenty of nods to pop music's past — not to mention several blink-and-you'd-miss-it odes to film, TV and, of course, Greek mythology. As is the case with all massive videos, there's a whole lot to keep track of, so, much like we did for equally big clips like Lady Gaga's "Telephone" and My Chemical Romance's "Na Na Na," we've put "Hold It Against Me" through the wringer and compiled a pop-culture cheat sheet that's alphabetized and cross-referenced for your convenience. Believe us, this took way longer than you could imagine, but it was worth it. (Oh, and despite our best efforts, we're sure there's something we missed, which is why we need your help: Let us know what you spot in the comments below.)

Photos of the references in Britney's "Hold It Against Me."

The Graeae: In Greek mythology, they were the three sisters who shared a single eye. In Britney's video, they're hoodie-wearing dudes with serious dance moves (and no eyes at all). Same thing, really.

Iamamiwhoami: Icky, sticky viral-video enigma whose early clips featured plenty of lying around in the fetal position (and amniotic fluids). In "HIAM," Britney, covered in similarly sticky liquid, curls up on the floor, striking a pose that would make Iamami proud.

Kanye West, "Runaway": Over-the-top 35-minute mini-movie/allegory starring West as a man who cares for a phoenix who has fallen to Earth. The meteor that crashes to Earth at the beginning of "HIAM" reminds us a lot of the phoenix's fiery entrance in 'Ye's film. And, if you look hard enough, you can also see the song's lyrics printed out in the top left corner of the shot.

Madonna, "Bedtime Stories": Ultra-artistic 1995 video, directed by Mark Romanek, that cost a reported $5 million to make. From the futuristic set and the special effects to Brit's long, flowing gown and whirling dancers, it appears to be a direct influence on pretty much everything in "HIAM." Though we're willing to bet Brit didn't spend nearly as much to make her version.

Madonna, "Die Another Day": Big-budget 2002 Madonna video from the equally big-budget James Bond film of the same name. It featured a memorable fight scene that pitted Madge against her alter ego (Mariah Carey did the same thing in her "Heartbreaker" video, BTW). In "HIAM," Britney battles her alter ego in a (very fashionable) kung fu fight.

"The Matrix": Wachowski brothers franchise that featured plenty of TV screens and a whole lot of marauding machinery, just like "HIAM." Like Keanu said, "Whoa."

"Mortal Kombat": Totally awesome (and violent) fighting game that featured, among its cast of characters, a blue-garbed assassin named Sub-Zero. In "HIAM," Britney's dancers don outfits similar to him, only they don't shoot ice out of their hands. Unless that part's in the director's cut.

Robyn, "Indestructible": Sexy 2010 video from Sweden's sexiest pop export, it featured Robyn writhing on a table while wearing a dress made entirely of clear plastic tubes (courtesy of Australian artist Lucy McRae), sort of like the ones Britney uses to spray colored liquid all over the "HIAM" set.

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show": Cult 1975 film adapted from a British play, its iconic poster featured a pair of bright-red lips, which seem to have also made their way into "HIAM."

Tool, ?nema: Totally excellent 1996 album that featured several covers, one of which was a creepy, double-irised eyeball, courtesy of artist Cam de Leon. If you blink (get it?!?), you might miss a similar eyeball that pops up in "HIAM."

Britney Spears' 10th 'Hold It Against Me' Preview Packed With Technology

There are just four more days until Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" video premieres, and the pop supernova continues to keep the suspense high.

After doling out super-short snippets of the visual to her latest dance floor-filler for over a week, the preview she gifted fans on Sunday (February 13) doesn't feature a flash of her toned legs or a scene where she and her dancers prepare to bust out some heart-racing choreography, but her presence is felt.

In the 10th, slickly produced teaser, a lofty chamber dotted with monitors looping many of her old videos takes center stage, as the bass from her insta-smash throbs in the background.

The seconds-long teasers will culminate in the premiere of the entire video, which goes down on MTV on Thursday at 9:56 p.m. ET, just before a brand new episode of "Jersey Shore." The video, which is the first single from her upcoming Femme Fatale LP, will also simultaneously premiere on MTV.com.

According to the video's choreographer, enduring days of teasers will be worth the wait. Dancer Brian Friedman recently assured MTV News that Spears is "definitely setting the bar" with "Hold It Against Me."

"She's showing that you have to push it as an artist: that you can't just settle, that you can't be calm with your choreography, that you have to make a statement," he said. "There's so many people out there competing in this world to be the queen of pop, and she's definitely claiming her throne."

Even with a top-flight track record of memorable clips, Friedman maintained that "Hold It Against Me" will be game-changing.

"Artistically, this video I think surpasses a lot of her other videos," he teased. "So many of her videos are iconic, though. You look at 'Toxic' and you look at 'Slave,' even 'Oops ... I Did It Again': People are gonna remember those videos forever. [In] '... Baby One More Time,' she made school-girl outfits relevant and so popular. This video is artistically a masterpiece, and I don't think that Britney has pushed the envelope in this way ever in any of her videos."

What do you think the rest of Britney's video will look like? Sound off in the comments!
