Gwen Stefani has donated $1 million to aid with relief efforts in Japan.

The No Doubt singer - who has sons Kingston, four, and two-year-old Zuma with husband Gavin Rossdale - has given the huge sum to Save the Children's Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund to help with recovery in the disaster-stricken nation.

She said in a statement: "I've been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture."

"The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking, and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years."

In addition to her donation, Gwen will unveil a limited edition Harajuku Lovers T-shirt on her band's website, with all proceeds from sales of the garment also going to help with relief efforts.

Gwen is not the only celebrity to donate a portion of their wealth to the cause.

Both Demi Lovato and Sandra Bullock have also given $1 million to the cause, while Clint Eastwood and Warner Bros. announced profits from the sales of "Hereafter" on DVD would be donated to help the country.

SANDRA BULLOCK DONATES $1M TO JAPAN
Sandra Bullock has donated $1 million to the Japan relief effort.

The "Blind Side" actress has given the huge sum to the American Red Cross on behalf of her family to help the earthquake-stricken country.

The organization said: "The American Red Cross is extremely grateful for this generous support from Sandra Bullock and her family. This contribution is vitally important as the Red Cross works to provide critical assistance and essential relief items in this time of urgent need for so many people in Japan."

Though the donation from Sandra - who previously gave $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to assist with helping Haiti following an earthquake in 2010 - is the biggest celebrity contribution to be made public, other stars have been backing the cause.

Lady Gaga has raised over $250,000 by designing a wristband - which is read and white and reads "We pray for Japan" in both English and Japanese - which has been on sale for just $5.

She tweeted: "Monsters: in just 48 hrs you've raised a quarter of a million dollars for Japan Relief. It's important we help. X (sic)"

The Asian country has suffered widespread devastation to its north eastern island as a result of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and after affects on Friday (March 11, 2011), and Gaga has been among many stars to come forward on the social networking website to help raise donations.

Katy Perry tweeted: "Remember as you go about your day please #prayforjapan & if you are able, text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to Japan's emergency relief. (sic)"

Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber also sent a message to fans, writing: "Japan is one of my favorite places on earth - it's an incredible culture with amazing people. My prayers go out to them. We all need to help."

People can donate to the relief fund via The Red Cross through a variety of methods including the charity's website, Facebook and iTunes.

Beyonce Donates Gaddafi Performance Money to Haiti Relief

Last week it was reported that pop stars Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Usher were among those who received money to perform at private functions for Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and his family. In response to the public scrutiny for receiving money from the ruling brood that has threatened its own people with "rivers of blood," some of the stars are donating the money to charity.

Earlier this week, Nelly Furtado announced she would donate the $1 million to charity for the money she received four years ago from the Gaddafi family.

Now Beyonce is following suit, as the Huffington Post is reporting that she donated $1 million to the Clinton Foundation shortly after the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

According to a statement released today from a rep for the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, "Once it became known that the third-party promoter was linked to the Gaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."

While the news did not come from Beyonce herself, and no one can be certain if the donation was made because of the Gaddafi connection or not, giving $1 million to the Haitian relief fund is worthy of praise regardless.

Beyonce Donates Gaddafi Cash to Charity

BEYONCE DONATES GADDAFI CASH TO CHARITY
Beyonce Knowles donated the money she earned performing for Libya's Colonel Gaddafi to charity.

The singer-and-actress gave a private performance for members of the dictator's family on New Year's Eve 2009, but instead of keeping the cash for herself she gave it all away to Haiti, following the devastating earthquake that ravaged the Caribbean nation in early 2010.

Her publicist said: "All monies paid to Beyonce for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago."

"Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."

Colonel Gaddafi - who has been linked to terrorist activity and accused of running a brutal regime over his people for 40 years - has been asked to step down by leaders of the western world following a violent revolt in the Middle Eastern country, but has refused, even denying there is unrest in the state.

Earlier this week, Nelly Furtado revealed she is to donate the $1 million she earned performing for Gaddafi's family in 2007.

The "Powerless (Say What You Want)" singer tweeted: "In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Qaddafi clan to perform a 45 min. Show for guests at a hotel in Italy. I am going to donate the $ (sic)."
