Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow Perform Together on His New Album

Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow have been making beautiful music for months on 'Glee,' and now the pair are teaming up off the set for a duet on Morrison's upcoming album.

The actor, who released his debut solo single, 'Summer Rain,' just last month, will perform 'Over the Rainbow' with Paltrow. Morrison previously performed a pared-down version of the 'Wizard of Oz' hit on the 'Glee' season one finale.

Morrison says of his choice to record such an iconic work, "People kind of know me for that song now. I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it. It's a lot of strings, and it's beautiful."

"The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favors, like Elton [John] and her," says Morrison. "I'm so not that guy."

Gwyneth Paltrow To Appear on Matthew Morrison’s Album

She’s made quite a name for herself in the “Glee” realm, and now Gwyneth Paltrow has signed on to sing on Matthew Morrison's solo album.

According to a report, the project is due to hit stores on May 10th and will feature the “Sliding Doors” dame on a cover of “Over the Rainbow.”

Asked why he chose to include the tune on his album, Matthew told press, “People kind of know me for that song now.”

He added, "I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it. It's a lot of strings, and it's beautiful."

Gwyneth Paltrow prefers appearing in ''Glee'' to starring in films.

The 38-year-old actress - who has appeared in two separate storylines as substitute teacher Holly Holliday in the show - enjoyed the "frantic" pace of the musical drama series in comparison with the relatively relaxed pace of movie sets.

Gwyneth - who has two children, Apple, six, and Moses, four, with her Coldplay star husband Chris Martin - said in an interview with this week's new! magazine: "I had such a good time. I went out to California for about 10 days and took the kids with me. I brought them out of school. I just loved doing that show."

"When I was first asked to do the show I had never seen it. I had heard it was a big hit, so I said, 'Yeah!' But it was tough. I'm used to a slower pace of shooting on a movie and this was really frantic. But I think I preferred it, actually."

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy recently admitted having Gwyneth - who is due to return for a third appearance later in the year - guest star on the show was a "dream come true."

He said: "Gwyneth Paltrow is going to come and do an episode soon, which is amazing. Having her come on the show is pretty much a dream come true - she's always been one of my dream guests."

Gwyneth Paltrow kicked Matthew Morrison in the groin when filming ''Glee.''

Gwyneth Paltrow and Matthew Morrison The actress makes a special appearance as substitute teacher Holly Holiday in the musical TV drama and Matthew - who plays Will Schuester - admitted she worried about hurting him as they danced together.

He told website Access Hollywood: "We're doing the Argentine tango, so you're in-between their legs and you're kicking up and stuff."

Pointing to his inner thigh, he added: "So she's kicking in here, and she's like, 'I'm so scared that I'm going to hit your man-love!' And I said, 'You know, just go for it.' And she did and she connected a couple of times."

Matthew added that the episode - due to air yesterday night (March 8, 2011) in the US - has a steamy theme and will feature Gwyneth's character teaching a class about the birds and the bees.

He added: "The episode is called 'Sexy' and Holly comes back as a sex-ed teacher and we teach the kids about sex through music."

While Gwyneth, 38, is married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, Matthew is single and admitted he doesn't think he'd make a good boyfriend at present.

He explained: "I'm not dating anyone. I don't feel like I'm in a good place to be a good boyfriend. I know how much work it is to be in a relationship and I don't have the time to put in that work right now."

Gwyneth Paltrow “I always have a Guinness before an awards ceremony”

We aren’t often fans of Gwyneth’s life tips. It seems a bit much to be told about your work-life balance by a multi-millionaire but this is the sort of life coaching that we can whole-heartedly endorse.

Gwyneth told The Mirror, “I always have a Guinness before an awards ceremony. Guinness is my favourite beer. And there are two other things, blush and a girdle.”

So that’s why we didn’t get invited to the Academy Awards, we didn’t drink enough Guinness beforehand and we weren’t wearing our giant Bridget Jones-style control knickers. Well if that is what it takes to get a ticket, then that is what we will do.

Guinness and Gwyneth does seem like a bit of an unlikely combination to us though, shouldn’t she be drinking macrobiotic camel juice and freshly squeezed potato milk?

Maybe she has been driven to drink after filming her second appearance on Glee. We know that if we were that close to Matthew Morrison and we weren’t allowed to pounce on him we would need a drink too, and possibly a restraining order.

Cee Lo Green and Gwyneth Paltrow Perform 'Forget You' with a Little Help From Puppets

Feb 13th 2011 11:45PMEmail ThisThe 53rd Annual Grammys were in need of some spunk and Cee Lo Green came to the rescue with more than enough of it. After Jamie Foxx introduced the performer, the stage opened up to an out-of-this world scene, rockets and puppets included. But the sight that caught the most attention was Green himself, who played the familiar opening piano keys of his smash hit 'F**k You,' or in this case 'Forget You,' while dressed like a psychedelic peacock, yellow, red and blue feathers aplenty.

Joining 'The Lady Killer' creator on stage were a bevy of puppets, from three female back-up singers dressed in mini skirts to a puppy standing by the piano waving its arms to the beat. Besides Green, there wasn't a human being in sight, even the keyboard player and drummer were a set of colorful creatures. Watch the video after the jump.


As Cee Lo crooned through his lyrics, a surprise in the form of actress Gwyneth Paltrow came to be. The blond bombshell strutted down a small catwalk decked out in all-black everything and cascading pink earrings. Paltrow, who's been showcasing her vocal chops recently on 'Glee' and in her recent film 'Country Strong,' had a microphone in hand and took over a few verses from Cee Lo's Grammy-nominated hit.

In what was undoubtedly the highlight of the night, Paltrow jumped on the piano, crawling toward the Gnarls Barkley member playfully. She even laid on her stomach and kicked her heels up to perform the explicit-less version of the tune.

Cee Lo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Muppets Light Up Grammy Stage

We knew that Cee Lo's Grammy performance would be "weird and cool," and the throwback MC delivered a dollop of campy whimsy to his stage takeover by teaming up with a slew of colorful, amped-up Muppets and inviting Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow for the ride.

Fresh from a Grammy win earlier in the night for Best Urban/ Alternative Performance, the Lady Killer crooner held court on a space-age set populated with alien-like Muppets and cartoony rockets sporting "Cee Lo" on the sides. Groovy extraterrestrial puppets, including a creature with a detached brain and a drummer with unruly rods snaking from its head, bopped along in the background as Cee Lo worked a grand piano for "Forget You" in an extravagant jumpsuit replete with red, blue and yellow feathers and a glittery headpiece recalling Elton John in his psychedelic heyday.

Rocking a much more subdued catsuit (also recalling the disco era with its plunging neckline), Gwyneth Paltrow ascended down the stairs for the second verse, marking the first time the pair have publicly performed Cee Lo's smash — Paltrow revamped it on "Glee" — together. The Oscar-winning actress joined in the loopy fun, bellowing, "I really hate your hate your ass right now" at the Goodie Mob alum. Then the star swung onto the piano for the bridge and she and Cee Lo belted the whiny "Why!" cries. The Gnarls Barkley frontman stood up and Paltrow stood on the piano as the pair and their puppet friends rode out the rest of the song.

MTV News got some inside information about the performance just days before Cee Lo, Paltrow and their puppet posse worked the stage. Jim Henson Company CEO Brian Henson said the set was inspired by the marionette mob's recent theater turn.

"We have a live theater show in New York called 'Stuffed and Unstrung,' and we've taken a bunch of the characters from that cast and made them into a band and backup singers for Cee Lo," Henson said of the fuzzy puppets from the made-for-grown-ups improv show. "He'll be backed by puppets who will make up a very weird and cool band."

Henson said the idea to sing with the puppets came from Cee Lo, who approached the Henson Company with a concept of what he wanted to do. "We had never worked with him before, and he's just a fabulous guy," Henson said. "I think he's a lifelong fan of the Muppets, and he had a pretty good idea of what he wanted."

Gwyneth Paltrow - and Puppets! - Perform with Cee Lo Green at the Grammy Awards

She crooned like a cowgirl at the CMA Awards, sang along with the Glee kids and rocked the stage at Saturday Night Live with Cee Lo Green. Now Gwyneth Paltrow has one more A-list performance to add to her resume: the Grammy Awards.

In a playful turn on the Grammy stage Sunday night, the actress once again joined Green – and some colorful Jim Henson Puppets! – to sing a TV-friendly version of his nominated hit song, "F–– You."

Paltrow, 38, bopped along in front of a spaceship-like backdrop, cozying up to her duet partner atop a piano. And she wasn't the only one having a good time: Green also dressed for the occasion – completing his stage ensemble with a disco-worthy, sequined head cap and feathered accessories.

The only thing that would be even more fantastic? If Paltrow and her fuzzy pals took their gig to the Academy Awards on Feb. 27.
