Has Chris Brown’s publicist quit?

The saying goes that there’s no such thing as bad publicity - but we’re not sure we agree with that, and we get the impression that Chris Brown’s PR lady might be on our wavelength.
Multiple sources in the US are reporting that Chris Browns publicity rep Tammy Brook has quit, following a turbulent week for the R&B singer. Although these reports haven’t yet been confirmed by Brook or Brown.
The trouble started earlier this week when Brown – who’s on the promotion trail for his new album – smashed a window and ripped his shirt after storming off Good Morning America. The singer became angry when the show’s host asked him questions about ex-girlfriend Rihanna. The singer soon apologised for his outburst saying, “I got very emotional, and I wanna apologise for acting like that. I didn't physically hurt anyone, I didn't try to hurt anyone, I just wanted to release the anger that I had inside me because I felt that I worked so hard for this music and I felt like people kept just trying to take it away from me."
But it looks like Chris’ publicist – who’s job it is to fix this sort of PR mess – has finally had enough.  As soon as we get more details or a confirmation on this story we’ll update you.

Publicist: Arquette 'OK' after Beverly Hills crash (AP)

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – David Arquette's Cadillac crashed head-on with another vehicle in Beverly Hills on Friday, but the actor was not seriously hurt and even joked about the collision on Twitter just a few hours later.

Arquette, 39, was "OK" after the crash, and was on his way to being treated, publicist Cindy Guagenti told The Associated Press in an e-mail.

"I got into a car accident but I'm fine. Luckily I have dragon's blood running through my veins," Arquette quipped on his Twitter account about two hours after the accident.

Arquette apparently deleted that Tweet. It did not appear on his page later Friday night, but several others referring to the crash did.

"Remember to wear your seatbelt — wish I was," he said in one.

Another read: "It was a miracle the woman I hit was uninjured — Thank God!"

Arquette said that he was headed to the airport to catch a plane to Las Vegas for a friend's restaurant opening at the time of the crash on Doheny Drive just north of Santa Monica Boulevard along the West Hollywood and Beverly Hills city limits.

Arquette and the other driver were the only two people involved, Beverly Hills police and fire officials said. There was no immediate word on what caused the collision.

Both were taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with injuries that were not considered serious.

Arquette, who has spoken publicly about his struggles with substance abuse, said last week on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that he has been sober since Dec. 30. He wrote Friday that he turned down drugs at the hospital after the crash.

"Refused all pain medication — may the record state — still sober!" he Tweeted.

Celebrity website TMZ, which first reported the accident, posted pictures that showed Arquette lying on a patch of roadside grass next to his silver Cadillac and another vehicle. Both had damage on their front bumpers and air bags deployed.

Video posted on the site showed paramedics and firefighters putting a man that appeared to be Arquette on a stretcher and lifting him into an ambulance.

Arquette and wife Courteney Cox announced that they were separating in October. The pair met when they appeared in the film "Scream" in 1996, and are co-starring in the fourth installment of the horror series due out later this year. They have a 6-year-old daughter together.

Arquette has also starred in the films "Never Been Kissed" and "3000 Miles to Graceland."

Arcade Fire's Album Of The Year Grammy Stuns Publicist

As the week draws to a close, many still can't believe Arcade Fire managed to trump Eminem and Lady Gaga to win Album of the Year at Sunday's Grammy Awards.

And if you're one of those who are still coming to grips with the upset, well, you're not alone. Turns out, even the band's publicist can't believe it. In fact, on Grammy night, she had made peace with the fact that Arcade Fire seemed destined to go home empty-handed.

In a new Billboard.biz story, Merge Records' publicist Christina Rentz writes that, after watching her band go 0-for-2 during the Grammys' pre-telecast awards (they lost both Best Alternative Album and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals to the Black Keys), she was resigned to the belief that the band would lose Album of the Year, too. In fact, she thought Eminem had it sewn up.

"The production value was amazing, and it was incredibly exciting to be in the room. When Eminem came onstage and blew the roof off the place, I thought we were sunk for sure," Rentz wrote. "But Jamie [Beck, Merge's retail director] had been saying all weekend that we were going to win. She gave me very good reasons why, but I still didn't think it was possible. As the night wore on, she persisted in her certainty, but it wasn't until Eminem won Best Rap Album that I felt the familiar sweaty palms again."

When Album of the Year was announced, her feelings of nervousness quickly changed to jubilation — much to the consternation of those seated around her.

"Barbra [Streisand] announced the Album of the Year: 'And the Grammy goes to ... The S-S-S-S-Suburbs? We began screaming and jumping as our section emptied out with people muttering under their breath, 'Who is Arcade Fire?' " she wrote. "The band accepted the award then immediately set up for their second song, with Win [Butler, the band's lead vocalist and songwriter] putting his Grammy on top of an amp so he could pick up his guitar ... my favorite moment of the evening!

"They could not stop smiling and neither could we. Together, we had accomplished something pretty incredible and hopefully inspired musicians everywhere not to compromise when it is important."

And afterwards, having bested Eminem for the night's biggest award, Rentz and Beck did what any newly minted Grammy winner would do: They partied hard. In their own way, of course.

"We then phoned our label manager Stacy 'Spott' Philpott and said, 'Holy crap, what do we do now?' " she wrote. "I still don't fully know the answer, but at the time, it seemed like the best thing we could do was to get in our red Mustang, throw the top down, drive to the after-party to hug our friends in Arcade Fire, high-five their manager Scott Rodger and then get back to work on Tuesday, the release date for two new albums from Telekinesis and East River Pipe."
