Witherspoon Farted On by Elephant on Set
Reese Witherspoon was farted on by an elephant while shooting her new movie.
The Oscar winner stars alongside Robert Pattinson in "Water for Elephants" and the pair worked with several huge trunked creatures for the film. The "Twilight" heartthrob has revealed the 35-year-old actress took an unexpected gust of flatulence from one of the large beasts when she was shooting a scene of circus tricks.
During an appearance on the "Jay Leno Show," Robert said: "Reese ended up under the elephant, who then went back on its hind legs and let out the most incredible fart directly in Reese's face for a good 45 seconds."
"It shows Reese's complete commitment to do the job because she just stood there and took it. And the elephant's got a big a**e!"
The 35-year-old actress wasn't the only cast member to get up close and personal with one of the elephants.
Robert also revealed he climbed into one of the animal's mouths during shooting.
The 24-year-old actor said: "The first time I met Thai the elephant, I just got in her mouth. It just seemed like a good place to be! She had these huge lips and her teeth were all the way at the back so she just carried me around!"
The film stars Reese as circus performer Marlena Rosenbluth whose horse dies putting her act in jeopardy, until her husband - cruel animal trainer August Rosenbluth - buys her an elephant which leads her to find love with Robert's vet character Jacob Jankowski.
Reese Witherspoon Engaged to Jim Toth
Reese Witherspoon is having a very happy holidays. US Magazine exclusively reports that the Oscar-winning actress ('Walk the Line'), 34, is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Jim Toth.
"They are extremely happy," a rep told the mag.
The couple began dating in January, shortly after Witherspoon's split from actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Toth, 40, is a Hollywood agent, according to the report.
This will be Witherspoon's second marriage. She was previously wed to actor Ryan Phillippe, whom she divorced 2008. They have two children together: Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7.
Witherspoon currently stars in the comedy 'How Do You Know,' in theaters nationwide.
Reese Witherspoon: 'Amazing' Robert Pattinson Is 'So Good-Looking!'
Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon, who's about to walk down the aisle in real life with agent Jim Toth, is hardly immune to the charms of her 'Water for Elephants' co-star, Robert Pattinson. The 'Twilight' phenom, 24, will play Witherspoon's romantic interest in the circus-themed drama, premiering April 22. Meanwhile, Entertainment Tonight now reports that while shooting the film last summer, his leading lady considered herself "so lucky" to shoot love scenes with Pattinson.
"He's so amazing and wonderful and sweet," said Witherspoon, 34. "And just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup. I mean, he's just so good looking, and he's a really nice person."
In her interview with ET, Witherspoon reminisced about her first time working with Pattinson -- when he was cast in a bit part in the regal 2004 period drama 'Vanity Fair.' Far from playing sweethearts, the two were supposed to play mother and child! While the young actor's footage never made it into that film, his first impression remains vivid for Witherspoon:
"He was walking down this corridor, and I turned to the director, and I said, 'That's my son? He's so good looking!' I was like, 'He's so hot!'"
As for Pattinson, he isn't holding a grudge about that particular role going by the wayside: "Even then, I realized on the set....I look too old to be playing her son. I mean, that's probably why I was cut."

"He's so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup."
"I mean, he's just so good looking and he's a really nice person," she continues.
That said, Witherspoon admitted the pair have a more humorous than amorous relationship off screen. "We'll probably just laugh the whole time, because all we do is just laugh and joke around," Reese says.
In Water for Elephants, which arrives in theaters on April 22, Witherspoon, 34, and Pattinson, 24, play lovers involved in a triangle that develops between their characters and Witherspoon's onscreen husband.

"He was walking down this corridor and I turned to the director and I said, 'That's my son? He's so good looking,' " she says. "I was like, 'He's so hot!' "
