Ker-ching! Hugh Laurie is the highest paid actor on US TV

So now Charlie Sheen is out of action, it would seem that lovely chap Hugh Laurie has taken the top spot and been announced as the highest paid actor on TV, raking in a whopping $400,000 plus per episode for his US show House.

Yes, Hugh has gone down rather well since he flitted off across the pond and the yanks seem to like him rather a lot. Bumbling but bloody nice Brit syndrome (see Colin Firth and Hugh Grant for more details) is very popular over there, you see, making us very proud indeed. God bless the Queen!

Hugh plays (bumbling but bloody ni.. actually, unreasonable) doctor Gregory House on US TV series House.

Hugh's rise in the rich ranks comes after Charlie Sheen fell out of work (and probably a brothel). Charlie is presumably now using his wads of hard earned cash to holiday with his two girlfriends who both work in the adult entertainment industry. Money well spent, eh?

Charlie declared his new found unemployed status yesterday to his nearly 1 million followers on Twitter, claiming he was:

 “Born Small… Now Huge… Winning… Bring it..! (unemployed winner…)”

We think that’s what he means, anyway.
