Billy Ray Cyrus Drops Divorce

BILLY RAY CYRUS DROPS DIVORCE
Billy Ray Cyrus is no longer getting a divorce.

Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus The singer-and-actor says he and his wife Tish - who are parents to "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus - have decided to stay together because his family now feel closer than ever.

He said: "I've dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together . Things are the best they've ever been."

The "Achy Breaky Heart" star - who also has another daughter Noah, 10 and a son Braison, 16 with Tish - added that he has recovered his father-daughter bond with Miley after speaking out about her recent antics including smoking a legal high through a bong device.

He said: "I feel like I got my Miley back. I feel like we're the daddy and daughter we were before 'Hannah Montana.'"

In October he announced that he was splitting with the mother of his children after 17 years of marriage, before speaking last month of his desire to "mend" his family.

When asked if his daughter's role as the pop princess caused difficulties at home he said the whole experience of fame was to blame.

He told TV show "The View": "'Hannah Montana' didn't ruin my family. Fame did. Sometimes when you get in this ride, you feel like you're strapped to a rocket."

Miley Cyrus meets her impression as 'SNL' host (AP)

NEW YORK – Miley Cyrus has met her "Saturday Night Live" impression while lampooning a fellow teen pop star herself.

Cyrus hosted "SNL" on Saturday night, leading to an inevitable face-off between the 18-year-old singer and cast member Vanessa Bayer's parody. But Cyrus appeared on Bayer's "The Miley Cyrus Show" not as herself, but 17-year-old Justin Bieber.

Cyrus played Bieber as too hip to use Bayer's enthusiastic "pretty cool" catch phrase.

In other sketches, Cyrus also played Fergie and Lindsay Lohan. Her Lohan impression occurred during a sketch with cast members portraying Charlie Sheen as the host of a TV show called "Duh! Winning!" with Lohan, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and fashion designer John Galliano as guests.

Miley Cyrus Silences Critics With Excellent 'Saturday Night Live' Hosting Gig

Mar 7th 2011 04:45PMFans of 'Saturday Night Live' got a special treat this weekend when Miley Cyrus hit the stage at 30 Rock to deliver one of the best episodes in recent memory. You read that right, folks!

The reviews (and numbers) are in, and Cyrus is a hit. Not only did the teen starlet prove she has a sense of humor about herself, mocking her now-infamous salvia-bong debacle, she also strapped on a wig to play a certain teen heartthrob in what EW is calling the "best impersonation of the night."
Cyrus opened the show confidently, comparing herself to the characters in the film 'Black Swan,' saying she's "mostly a white swan kind of girl, but I've had a few black swan moments." She then ran down her various scandals in a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek song that lampooned many of the more risqué moments in recent popular culture while putting her own far-less-boorish misbehaviors in perspective.

Sounding better than ever, Cyrus sang:

There's a photo of me being kissed by a dude
And Annie Leibovitz tried to get me nude
For those of you who think that's very crude
I'm sorry that I'm not perfect

I never stole a necklace or got a DUI
Never cheated on my wife like that golfer guy
So what if you can see a little boob from the side
I'm sorry that I'm not perfect

And sure, I danced on a pole and people called it sinning
But at least I didn't date a porn star and tell everyone I'm winning.

(Kristen Wiig: You didn't make a dirty tape and pass it along)

(Bobby Moynihan: You didn't text a photo of your dong)

Don't both of these things seem worse than a bong?

At "bong," Cyrus briefly stopped the song, put her hand to her ear and then began waving to the audience, who burst out into wild applause. The song and applause break seemed to indicate that Cyrus, rightly, isn't interested in groveling for forgiveness for behaving like a teenager -- one who did nothing illegal. Good for her!

The singer then went on to stop by 'The Miley Cyrus Show,' a recurring 'SNL' sketch, but she didn't play who you'd think. 'SNL' featured player Vanessa Bayer has been doing a great job of parodying Cyrus all season, leaving the 'Party in the U.S.A.' songbird to take on a different singer: Justin Bieber. According to EW, "Cyrus had Bieber's trying-too-hard hip-hop mannerisms down cold."

She also had some fun with her former employers at Disney and 'Hannah Montana,' in a sketch called "Disney Channel Acting School," where she and 'SNL' regular Kenan Thompson -- playing Raven-Symone -- gave aspiring young actors and actresses lessons in what it takes to be a Disney star, including "loudness," "disrespecting authority," the "pause then dis" technique and "reacting to stinky feet."

Cyrus' turn on 'SNL' brought the NBC late-night staple its second highest ratings of the season, trailing only a Jan. 8 broadcast that benefited from a NFL playoff game lead-in. According to preliminary numbers, the broadcast led the night among adults ages 18-49, the demographic most coveted by advertisers, besting all prime-time programming from ABC, Fox and CBS, and giving the broadcast an 8 percent boost over the same night last year.

Bravo, Miley! You nailed it.

Miley Cyrus Plays Justin Bieber, Fergie on 'SNL'

It had to happen. All season, cast newcomer Vanessa Bayer has been parodying Miley Cyrus in recurring 'Saturday Night Live' sketches. And this weekend, with Cyrus trying her hand at hosting 'SNL,' the 18-year-old got to share a 'Miley Cyrus Show' scene with Bayer -- coming face to face with the shrill, pleased-with-herself caricature the comedienne has perfected since the spoof's debut last fall.

The former 'Hannah Montana' star brought just the right amount of swagger to her Justin Bieber impersonation (surely the 'swagger coach' was a big help), and things got pretty meta when Bayer mentioned salvia to "Justin" and tried (unsuccessfully) to get Cyrus to utter the sketch's "Pretty cool!" tagline.

Later in the 'SNL' broadcast, Cyrus belted her heart out as Fergie, and gyrated onstage at inopportune moments to crash a hilarious segment ostensibly devoted to two lesser-known Black Eyed Peas: Taboo (Andy Samberg) and apl.d.ap (Kenan Thompson).

First, check out 'The Miley Cyrus Show' for the Bieber impersonation. And after the jump, see Cyrus have the time of her life as Fergie.

Michael Lohan to Billy Ray Cyrus: 'I Feel Your Pain'

Feb 18th 2011 07:23PMEmail Thismichael lohan billy ray cyrusAlthough 'expert' isn't word one would ever imagine seeing next to Michael Lohan's name, he is a seasoned veteran when it comes to dealing with troubled daughter, Lindsay Lohan. And Michael isn't letting his knowledge go to waste.

On the heels of Billy Ray Cyrus' GQ magazine confession that 'Hannah Montana' was the worst thing that could have happened to daughter Miley Cyrus, Michael Lohan recognized the similar issues he and the 'Achy Breaky Heart' dad are facing.

In an open letter to Billy Ray posted exclusively by RadarOnline.com, Michael sympathizes with the same "scrutiny, pain and willingness to sacrifice yourself, for the sake of your family," that Billy Ray is facing. But Michael goes on to say that the pain and sacrifice are well worth it when it comes to protecting your family, even if they are initially resistant to help.

Read the letter after the jump!
The infamous stage dad then references the temptation and lure of Hollywood's "bright light"
before ending the letter with what seems like heartfelt allusions to world peace. So, is this an olive branch genuinely extended to a fellow dad in need or just another way to keep his name in the headlines? You decide:

Billy Ray,

Oh My God! Am I seeing and reliving almost the same exact situations, scrutiny, pain and willingness to sacrifice yourself, for the sake of your family?

As hard and frustrating as it is, believe me when I say, it's a road worth traveled. Even if it may have its bumps and grinds along the way.

As I was raised, there is nothing like the love a man has for his family nor is there any length he will go to save or protect them.

The hardest part is, experiencing the pain that comes from the resistance of the very one(s) you are trying to save.

The one(s) you love so much, and are willing to die for, are too blinded by the "bright light" and people who use our loved one(s) while everyone thinks you are supposed to sit back and pretend it goes unseen.

As I don't see you as any one of the three monkeys with their hands over their ears, eyes and mouth. I, nor you, are the type of men who will sit back and do or say nothing at the risk of being persecuted.

When I look at what you are going through, I am forced to see myself. Two men who know what divorce and alienation, have done to our families.

Why I ask, if it so hard for our wives, children and even the public, to see that all we are trying to do, is to be there for our family and try to make things right?

Isn't it clear that the answer is so easy but the people who don't matter, make it so hard? While all we want is our family and normal lives back, others forsake that for so much more.

Why is it that people don't put themselves in or shoes? And say to themselves, "How would I feel if that was happening to me?"

The sad part is, they don't and they probably never will. But that doesn't mean that men like you and I should ever give up.

While we can't change the world, our example just might touch a few, and maybe even the one(s) we seek to save.

To that end, I want to say, that I know what you are going through, I feel your pain and frustration, and I also admire your strength, dedication and love, for your family in the name of God.

Best and God Bless,

Michael Lohan

"It appears that Michael Lohan's intentions are good in writing this open letter but I don't think Billy Ray Cyrus is going to invite him for Guys Night Out anytime soon," RadarOnline founder and executive vice president David Perel tells PopEater. "You can't find fault with Michael expressing empathy for Billy Ray but most people would say their situations are not parallel. While Miley has exhibited some questionable judgment in her choices, she's never been arrested she hasn't been to rehab Give Michael props for reaching out, but most of us don't see the same strong parallels that he does in the Lohan-Cyrus sagas."

Miley reportedly furious about Billy Ray's interview:

From Salvia Jokes to Kings' Sneers, Grammys Aren't a Good Night to Be Miley Cyrus

Feb 13th 2011 11:00PMEmail ThisMiley Cyrus has been trying to bounce back during a scandal-filled winter. But anyone watching the Grammys can agree that the awards weren't that kind to the teen star.

First, the dress. Cyrus wore an ill-fitted Roberto Cavalli gown on the red carpet. She flirted with a wardrobe malfunction with each turn towards the camera.

Next, the ambush. Ryan Seacrest was just settling into an inteview with Willow Smith when Miley came up along side them. Within the blink of an eye, Cyrus jumped into their space, gave Willow a hug and took over the interview. Willow appeared to evaprate as Seacrest took over asking Cyrus questions.

Then, the blowoff. Cyrus and Kings of Leon were brought on to announce the Best Country Album. The coincidence? They all hail from Tennesse. But that wasn't enough to make them bond. Caleb Followill looked like he's rather be anywhere else as Miley kicked off their scripted banter.

Last, the lowblow. Seth Rogen came on to introduce Eminem and Rihanna. "I've seen things I've never seen before. I heard things I've never heard before. And that wasn't even watching the show. That was just backstage getting high with Miley Cyrus." The crowd howled and gasped at the same time, but Usher -- seated next to Justin Bieber -- appeared quite amused.

Miley Cyrus, Other Stars Talk Grammys At Pre-Show Bash

LOS ANGELES — Some of the entertainment world's biggest stars gathered at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Saturday night for the annual Clive Davis and the Recording Academy's Pre-Grammy Gala. And on the evening before the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, the big show was all anybody was talking about on the golden carpet.

Check out photos of Cee Lo, R. Kelly and Jennifer Hudon performing at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party.

Miley Cyrus said she was excited to see her pal Christina Aguilera take part in the Aretha Franklin tribute — where she'll be joined by Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams and Martina McBride. "I got a little sneak peek of Christina when she was doing Aretha Franklin," Miley spilled. "She's a friend of mine and I can't wait to see her perform. She's always incredible. I think she's the best female vocalist. I love listening to her."

OneRepublic singer Ryan Tedder, who just worked with Hudson on a track for her new album, was one of the many celebs who said they were most looking forward to seeing the "Dreamgirls" star honor Franklin. Tedder also had a few words about Davis' pre-show bash. A frequent attendee of the annual party, he admitted that though it often can be a "high-stress environment," that wasn't the case this year. "This time I'm just here eating food. I don't even know who's playing," he laughed.

Matthew Morrison of "Glee," meanwhile, showed loyalty to one his occasional co-stars, Gwyneth Paltrow, saying he was really looking forward to seeing the actress/singer take the stage with Cee Lo Green. Although maybe his excitement was more about relief, as the two of them spent last week filming Paltrow's upcoming return to the hit TV show while he was under the weather. "I had to kiss her last week and she was like, 'You better not get me sick!' " he admitted.

Janelle Mon?e, who will join B.o.B and Bruno Mars on the Grammy stage, at first coyly refused to spill any details about the performance. She eventually opened up a little, though, offering that it would be "very revolutionary."

Another performer set to hit the stage on Sunday night (February 13) with her share of famous fans is Lady Gaga. Toni Braxton enthused, "What I love about her is that you never know what to expect. She's like a jack-in-the-box!"

Vanessa Minnillo, accompanied by fiancé Nick Lachey, summed it up for the ladies in general, saying, "It's such an unexpected and nerve-wracking year for female performers."

Don't miss "Snooki & Sway: Live From the Grammys," a red-carpet live stream kicking off Sunday (February 13) at 6 p.m. ET on MTV.com. And stick with us all Grammy night for coverage of the red carpet, the show, the afterparties and beyond!
