Michael Lohan Charged With Domestic Violence

MICHAEL LOHAN CHARGED WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Michael Lohan has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.

The showbiz patriarch must now appear in Beverly Hills court for his arraignment on May 23 in relation to an incident on Monday (March 21, 2011), when he allegedly attacked on/off girlfriend Kate Major.

Michael, 50, had originally been arrested for three domestic violence felonies - preventing the report of the victimization, false imprisonment and inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant - but Los Angeles District Attorney's office decided not to pursue those charges.

District Attorney's spokesperson Shiara Davila-Morales said: "Evidence was found to be substantiated to one misdemeanor count."

If convicted of the offense, Michael - who is the father of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan - could face up to a year in jail.

Prosecutors are expected to recommend a $30,000 bail be imposed at arraignment.

On Tuesday (March 22, 2011) denied the accusations, accusing Kate of lying, faking her injuries and attacking him.

He said: "I didn't touch her. I didn't do a damn thing to her. When we got back to the house, she was in the bedroom and I was cooking dinner when she started screaming. She was yelling 'What the f**k is this? You're a piece of s**t. Who is Maryann Mancuso?' and that is a friend of mine."

"She was holding my phone and I grabbed it away from her. She had something sharp in her hand and she grabbed my arm and slashed my arm open. I told her to get out of here, you get your stuff and get out of here right now."

"She said I gave her a fat lip, she has Restylane in her lips. This was all a set up."

Michael Lohan Wants to Get Back With Dina

MICHAEL LOHAN WANTS TO GET BACK WITH DINA
Michael Lohan wants to get back with his ex-wife Dina.

Michael and Dina Lohan The showbiz patriarch - the father of actress Lindsay Lohan - has reportedly been telling people that he wants to reunite with the mother of his children because he feels their divorce in 2007 is to blame for the "Machete" star's recent troubles.

A production source on "Dr Drew's Celebrity Rehab" - on which Michael is appearing on as he undergoes treatment for "anger issues" - says he has been open about his wish to reconcile with Dina, with whom he also has three other children, Ali, 17, Cody, 14, and 23-year-old Michael Jr.

The source said: "Michael has been revealing that he wants to get back together with Dina. It's a shocking revelation, to say the least. Michael feels that Lindsay's troubles are because of his divorce with Dina. Michael wants his family back."

"Michael is realistic that too much may have happened and that it will probably never transpire, but he says he loves Dina, even after all of the bad blood that's been split."

He even has hopes that his family will come to a "graduation day" planned this Sunday (March 27, 2011) to mark the end of his time on the VH1 show, but it is unlikely Dina and the kids will show up.

The source told RadarOnline.com: "Michael would love it if Dina, Lindsay, Michael Jr., Cody and Ali all came. He is doubtful that will happen though because they refused to participate in 'Family Day,' which was last weekend."

Michael and his ex-wife have rowed publicly in the past, with Dina often accusing him of failing to pay child support for Ali and Cody and telling the media that Lindsay refuses to talk to him.

However he has denied this, insisting that he is talking to his famous daughter every day.

Lindsay has until Friday (March 25, 2011) to decide whether to accept a plea bargain for six months jail time after she was accused of grand theft felony in relation to a $2,500 necklace.

Drugs jail term was karma, says George Michael (AFP)

LONDON (AFP) – Pop star George Michael said he deserved to be jailed for a month for crashing his car while high on cannabis, describing his time inside as karma, in a BBC radio interview.

The former Wham! singer said he was now receiving therapy over his drug abuse issues and was "ashamed" to have broken the law repeatedly.

The 47-year-old was jailed in September last year after admitting driving under the influence of drugs.

"I was assured I wasn't going to prison but I thought I was, and it was much easier to take because I felt it was deserved," he said, in an interview to be broadcast Monday.

"This was a hugely shameful thing to have done repeatedly so karmically I felt like I had a bill to pay. I went to prison, I paid my bill.

"Remarkably enough -- I know people must think it was a really horrific experience -- it's so much easier to take any form of punishment if you believe you actually deserve it, and I did."

Besides his jail term, Michael was also been banned from driving for five years and was forced to pay fines and costs worth £1,365.

The singer said he felt he was jailed partly because "I'm George Michael and the poster boy for cannabis".

Michael, whose real name is Georgios Panayiotou, said many fellow musicians wrote to him in jail, including Paul McCartney, Elton John and Boy George.

Describing his first night in prison, he said: "It wasn't a weekend break, put it that way.

"I didn't feel sorry for myself. I thought, 'Oh my God, this place is absolutely filthy'.

"I just thought, 'you get your head down'."

He said his last night inside was "great", with "every single staff member" and prisoner getting his autograph -- some of them on headed prison paper.

The singer -- who first found fame in 1980s pop group Wham! and has gone on to sell more than 100 million records worldwide -- has a long history with drugs and scrapes with the law.

In June 2007, Michael was given a two-year driving ban after pleading guilty to driving while unfit the previous October, when he was found collapsed in his car.

In 1998 he was fined after making lewd advances to an undercover male police officer in a public toilet in Beverly Hills, California.

George Michael: I deserved to go to jail (AP)

LONDON – George Michael says he deserved to spend a month in jail last year for crashing his Range Rover while under the influence of drugs.

The former Wham! singer says it was karma — that after repeatedly breaking the law, he felt that he "a bill to pay." That made accepting his punishment easier, Michael said, according to excerpts from an interview released by BBC radio Sunday.

Michael received an eight-week sentence for crashing his car into a London photo shop in July while high on prescription drugs and marijuana. The judge ordered Michael to serve four weeks of the sentence in prison and the rest on parole.

The musician, whose hits include "Faith" and "Freedom," also received a 1,250 pound (about $2,000) fine and lost his driver's license for five years.

George Michael Denies Split from Partner Kenny Goss

George MichaelGeorge Michael took to Twitter and personally called a UK TV show to deny that his partner Kenny Goss was splitting up with him.

Yesterday, The Sun reported that Goss, Michael's partner for more than 15 years, finally had enough of the singer's troubled lifestyle and had split from the singer.

The Daily Mail is reporting Michael watched a discussion of the story on UK's Channel 'The Wright Stuff' in the morning and he immediately tweeted, "Would someone Tweet 5wrightstuff and tell them the Sun is lying through its teeth as usual."

He also went on to tweet, "Kenny did no such thing...."

Michael later on called into the show to personally say that the story was untrue.

A now discredited source had told The Sun that especially Goss had enough of Michael's troubled lifestyle, especially the singer's ongoing problems with drugs and his infamous arrest and conviction last year.

The source had said, "The writing has been on the wall for some time. There are only so many second chances Kenny was prepared to give. He's been loyal to George from day one, but that hasn't always been reciprocated."

The source concluded by saying, "It's really sad, but hopefully this could be the wake-up call George needs." http://xml.channel.aol.com/xmlpublisher/fetch.v2.xml?option=expand_relative_urls&dataUrlNodes=uiConfig,feedConfig,entry&id=691977&pid=691976&uts=1273167996http://www.popeater.com/mm_track/popeater/music/?s_channel=us.musicpop&s_account=aolpopeater,aolsvc&omni=1&ke=1http://cdn.channel.aol.com/cs_feed_v1_6/csfeedwrapper.swfGabourey Sidibe attends The American Cancer Society's Choose You luncheon on May 5th in New York City.oKExp.start("popeater3-popeater_music_popscene");

George Michael Loses High Hunger

GEORGE MICHAEL LOSES HIGH HUNGER
George Michael has lost 15lbs since giving up marijuana.

The 47-year-old singer insists he has been clean since completing four weeks of an eight-week prison term for driving under the influence of drugs last September and has been delighted by some of the unexpected side effects of quitting his cannabis high, which is known for triggering a sudden desire for food in users.

He said: "I'm having counseling about my ongoing drug abuse. Hopefully the period where I was a bit lost is over for good."

"I hope it's self evident just in the fact I've lost about 15lbs, I hope it's self-evident I'm not eating as much any more, which should tell you a lot."

"None of my trousers fit anymore, for the right reasons this time. I've dropped about 14 or 15lbs without really trying."

Despite his weight loss, George is not convinced he will stay slender and hasn't yet accepted his slim frame enough to shop for new clothes.

He added in an interview with UK station BBC Radio 2: "I've always been the porky boy in my head. I didn't realize on the last tour I was carrying all that extra weight! Now if anything, I'm a little bit skinny."

"I have two pairs of black jeans and they're the only ones that fit me. In my head I obviously think I'm going to put the weight back on so I haven't bought any new jeans."

As well as losing weight, George says his sobriety has given him more "courage" to try new things and tackle parts of his life he had previously kept hidden.

He said: "I struggle to have more hours of social time because I'm trying to be a very good boy, that's a struggle but the work part is easy."

"I went through a long period where I was afraid of doing things I wanted to do, and you get your courage back, which is what's important. Some days it's fearlessness, but I wouldn't normally go that far."

"There are aspects of my life that I treasure which I couldn't get my hands on in a weird way over the last 15 years and I can now, it's a bizarre feeling."

Michael Jackson 'chemically castrated' as child: doctor (AFP)

MARSEILLE (AFP) – Michael Jackson may have been more prince than king of pop, a French doctor says in a new book alleging his wide-ranging voice resulted from a childhood chemical castration to fight acne.

"When he died, I realised that he was an unusual phenomenon," Alain Branchereau, an opera buff and professor of vascular surgery at Timone University Hospital in France's Mediterranean port of Marseille, told AFP.

"I said, 'That's the voice of a castrato!'."

After discussing the voice with his colleagues, including endocrinologists, Branchereau ended up with the theory of chemical castration through the synthetic anti-male hormone drug Cyproterone.

"When he was 12, Michael Jackson had acne. We know this, he spoke about it himself as a tragedy. What I think could have happened is that his people suggested this miracle treatment," the doctor said.

Cyproterone "blocks puberty, the voice can't mature," he said, adding that he had read around 20 books on the subject, studied photographs and spoken to specialists in dermatology, voice physiology, plastic surgery, urology as well as to a former singer with a boys choir.

The drug stops bodily hair and the larynx from growing and affects the bones, leaving the body with a slight frame but a large chest.

Once the treatment is finished, the patient "keeps a child's larynx all his life in a man's body," said Branchereau.

The doctor also noted that a male voice breaks during adolescence, becoming difficult to control. "But Michael Jackson never stopped singing," he said.

"An important part of my theory is this voice's exceptional character, which covers three octaves. But I haven't found any grown men's voices that cover three octaves."

Branchereau admitted that he had not contacted Jackson's family or friends for his book, "Michael Jackson, the secret of a voice," due out on March 9.

"We will never have proof," the doctor said. "Unless his entourage says something."

Michael Lohan Signs Up for ''Celebrity Rehab''

MICHAEL LOHAN SIGNS UP FOR ''CELEBRITY REHAB''
Michael Lohan has signed up for ''Celebrity Rehab'' to receive treatment for anger management issues.

The father of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan - who was ordered to spend 90 days in rehab last year after failing a court-ordered drug test - will take part in the reality TV show, which is hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky and sees stars get help for their problems, which are usually drink or drug related.

However, sources close to Michael - who has battled addictions in the past - insist he is sober but is keen to get his temper under control.

One said: "Michael is absolutely 100 per cent sober. He hasn't been using drugs or alcohol, but he is being treated for anger management issues. Michael has tremendous admiration for Dr. Drew, and was given this opportunity to better himself, and he took it. Michael wants to deal with his anger issues in a controlled environment."

Michael also wanted to use the show to repair relations with his ex-wife Dina and become closer to Lindsay and their other three children, Ali, 17, Cody, 14, and 23-year-old Michael Jr.

The source added to RadarOnline.com: "He wants to be a positive role model for his children and he has a lot of unresolved feelings of anger towards Dina, and that needs to be dealt with."

"Producers of the show are hoping that Lindsay, Dina, and the other children would consider appearing on the show for family counseling, if they are comfortable in doing so. Dr. Drew wants to help heal this family and just get them sitting down in the same room, that would be the first step."

However, Lindsay - who could be returning to jail later this month after being accused of stealing a $2,5000 necklace - is said to be "shocked and upset" at Michael's decision to take part as she's worried he will embarrass the family.

Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones Step Out for Fashion Week

Michael Douglas, 66, and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 41, were spotted stepping out in New York City earlier this week, to mingle with a star-studded crowd enjoying Michael Kors' 30th-anniversary collection, and the party that followed.

Douglas, looking trim and healthy after his harrowing battle with throat cancer, is a longtime friend of Kors' business partner, Lawrence Stroll. The 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' star (looking forward to shooting a Liberace biopic with Steven Soderbergh later this year) attended the event alongside Zeta-Jones, who was sporting full, wild hair.

And they weren't the only stylish celebs at the Kors show.

Debra Messing, Angie Harmon and Emma Roberts (who hit several shows throughout Fashion Week) were in attendance. And seated in the front row: Bette Midler, Anjelica Huston, model Patti Hansen and Rene Russo, the stunning model-turned-movie star whom Kors costumed so memorably in 1999's 'The Thomas Crown Affair.'

Michael Jackson's Kids Talk About Him 'All The Time'

Michael Jackson's Kids Talk About Him 'All The Time' Blanket, Paris and Prince Jackson

Splash News Online

Even in death, Michael Jackson is still a major presence in his children's lives.

"They are around their father 24 hours a day," Michael's brother, Jackie Jackson, told PEOPLE recently. "They have pictures in the bedroom. They talk about him all the time. They ask me stories about him. They want to know more about him."

The pop star's three kids – Prince, Paris and Prince Michael, aka Blanket – are "doing really well," Jackie said, adding that they are interested in getting into the entertainment business. Prince wants to be a director, while Paris wants to be an actress.

"I told the kids, 'You better get busy because when we were your age we were selling out concerts,' " Jackie joked, referring to the famed Jackson 5 era.

The children have embraced that era of their father's life, with Prince even donning a Jackson 5 shirt to a recent Los Angeles Lakers game he attended with Jackie. The black shirt is a part of the J5 collection that Jackson’s brothers launched.

"We had thousands of photos that had never really been seen and we wanted to make use of them," Jackie said at the MAGIC fashion convention in Las Vegas.

The clothing line, in its second season, uses images of the famed band and puts them on t-shirts, tank tops and jackets. Michael's children especially love the shirts, said Jackie.

"They like to see us as little kids," he said. "We were the same age they are and we were doing our thing."

Michael Lohan to Billy Ray Cyrus: 'I Feel Your Pain'

Feb 18th 2011 07:23PMEmail Thismichael lohan billy ray cyrusAlthough 'expert' isn't word one would ever imagine seeing next to Michael Lohan's name, he is a seasoned veteran when it comes to dealing with troubled daughter, Lindsay Lohan. And Michael isn't letting his knowledge go to waste.

On the heels of Billy Ray Cyrus' GQ magazine confession that 'Hannah Montana' was the worst thing that could have happened to daughter Miley Cyrus, Michael Lohan recognized the similar issues he and the 'Achy Breaky Heart' dad are facing.

In an open letter to Billy Ray posted exclusively by RadarOnline.com, Michael sympathizes with the same "scrutiny, pain and willingness to sacrifice yourself, for the sake of your family," that Billy Ray is facing. But Michael goes on to say that the pain and sacrifice are well worth it when it comes to protecting your family, even if they are initially resistant to help.

Read the letter after the jump!
The infamous stage dad then references the temptation and lure of Hollywood's "bright light"
before ending the letter with what seems like heartfelt allusions to world peace. So, is this an olive branch genuinely extended to a fellow dad in need or just another way to keep his name in the headlines? You decide:

Billy Ray,

Oh My God! Am I seeing and reliving almost the same exact situations, scrutiny, pain and willingness to sacrifice yourself, for the sake of your family?

As hard and frustrating as it is, believe me when I say, it's a road worth traveled. Even if it may have its bumps and grinds along the way.

As I was raised, there is nothing like the love a man has for his family nor is there any length he will go to save or protect them.

The hardest part is, experiencing the pain that comes from the resistance of the very one(s) you are trying to save.

The one(s) you love so much, and are willing to die for, are too blinded by the "bright light" and people who use our loved one(s) while everyone thinks you are supposed to sit back and pretend it goes unseen.

As I don't see you as any one of the three monkeys with their hands over their ears, eyes and mouth. I, nor you, are the type of men who will sit back and do or say nothing at the risk of being persecuted.

When I look at what you are going through, I am forced to see myself. Two men who know what divorce and alienation, have done to our families.

Why I ask, if it so hard for our wives, children and even the public, to see that all we are trying to do, is to be there for our family and try to make things right?

Isn't it clear that the answer is so easy but the people who don't matter, make it so hard? While all we want is our family and normal lives back, others forsake that for so much more.

Why is it that people don't put themselves in or shoes? And say to themselves, "How would I feel if that was happening to me?"

The sad part is, they don't and they probably never will. But that doesn't mean that men like you and I should ever give up.

While we can't change the world, our example just might touch a few, and maybe even the one(s) we seek to save.

To that end, I want to say, that I know what you are going through, I feel your pain and frustration, and I also admire your strength, dedication and love, for your family in the name of God.

Best and God Bless,

Michael Lohan

"It appears that Michael Lohan's intentions are good in writing this open letter but I don't think Billy Ray Cyrus is going to invite him for Guys Night Out anytime soon," RadarOnline founder and executive vice president David Perel tells PopEater. "You can't find fault with Michael expressing empathy for Billy Ray but most people would say their situations are not parallel. While Miley has exhibited some questionable judgment in her choices, she's never been arrested she hasn't been to rehab Give Michael props for reaching out, but most of us don't see the same strong parallels that he does in the Lohan-Cyrus sagas."

Miley reportedly furious about Billy Ray's interview:

Kathy Griffin, Michael J. Fox Among TV Stars Up for Grammy Awards

As if the most entertaining awards show of the year isn't star-studded enough, the humongous Grammy Awards nomination list (109 categories, hello!) includes a slew of TV favorites.

Some niche categories won't make tonight's broadcast. But expect to see many of the following stars in attendance, if not winning hardware on stage.

TV stars dominate the Best Comedy Album category. Kathy Griffin will certainly arrive wielding her nomination for 'Kathy Griffin Does the Bible Belt.' And if only Grammys producers would let Flight on the Conchords perform in support of 'I Told You I Was Freaky' (man, we miss them on HBO!). Recent 'DWTS' hoofer Margaret Cho is also competing with her CD, 'Cho Dependent'. 'The Daily Show' regular Lewis Black and the original Mork himself, Robin Williams, round out the Best Comedy Album nominees.

Reserve a row at Staples Center for the cast of 'Glee', nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. (Unprecedented for a TV cast? Not really: The Monkees were nominated for four Grammys back in the '60s).

And 'Glee' guest Carol Burnett (who played Jane Lynch's Nazi-hunting mom this season) is a nominee for Best Spoken Word Album, for her audio book 'This Time Together.' In the same category: TV icon Michael J. Fox, hoping for his second Best Spoken Word win at the Grammys.

As for 2011, Underwood looks to add to her five trophies, this time in the category of Best Female Country Performance. But Fantasia Barrino, up for two awards tonight, may still become the Susan Lucci of Grammy-nominated 'Idol' stars (so far, Barrino is 0 for 8).

And this year, 'American Idol' favorite Adam Lambert (runner-up in season 8) is up for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. But the man who won the season over Lambert, Kris Allen, was surprisingly shut out of the 2011 Grammys.
