Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron The "High School Musical" co-stars ended their five-year relationship in December and the actress thinks that because they had been together for such a long time, there was no question they would not want to have remained a part of one another's lives.

She said: "After being in a relationship with someone that long, you stay friends."

The brunette beauty has recently been romantically linked with her "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" co-star Josh Hutcherson but Vanessa insists there is nothing going on between them.

She told TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: "I'm single. Can't a girl have friends? Aww, I love him. We just did a movie together and we had the best time."

Vanessa, 22, can next be seen in fantasy action adventure movie "Sucker Punch" - which follows a group of tough girls trying to escape from a mental institution - and she admits she felt "empowered" after seeing the finished film for the first time.

Recalling seeing the movie, she told the new issue of Nylon magazine: "My energy, my spirits were so high that I literally felt like I had just walked out of a rock concert."

"When I saw it, I was literally like, 'Woo, yes! I can do anything! Yay! Go women!' Like, I feel so empowered."

Lily Allen makes some new AMAZING friends

Despite slagging off her own TV show earlier this week, it seems Lily Allen is in very good spirits of late. How do we know this?* Because she’s been making lots of friends this week – and not the type of people you’d expect.

At the Cheltenham festival’s Gold Cup Day today, Lily hung out with horsey types and everyone’s favourite sporting interviewer-type Clare Balding, who she chatted away happily with during an interview for Radio Five Live.

But the fun and friend-making didn’t end there. In THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION YOU MAY EVER HEAR, Lily Allen shared a box with actual Jeremy Kyle. This is a bit brilliant, no?

Ashton Kutcher & Jennifer Aniston? 'No Strings Attached' Star Reveals 'Friends' Dating Bet (omg!)

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore may be happily married, but before he hit Hollywood, the actor had his eye on another "Friend-ly" leading lady.

"I bet a high school buddy $1,000 that one day I would go on a date with Jennifer Aniston," Ashton revealed on "The Graham Norton Show" in an episode which airs next week on BBC America. "I was 17 years old and she was on my screensaver."

The "No Strings attached" star explained to the Irish comedian that when he finally got to Hollywood and had some success, he turned to Jennifer's then-husband, Brad Pitt, for some help.

"Five years later I actually met her and I asked Brad Pitt's permission to ask his wife out on a date. He was so cool and said 'You go for it' so I asked her and she turned me down," Ashton said.

While he's now married, Ashton said he still hopes to win his teenage bet.

"Now we're friends so it might still happen, but now I have to ask Demi's permission and I just don't know how to broach that with the wife... but I do want to win the bet," he said.

As for his life with Demi, Ashton told Graham he was proud that the two have spent nearly a decade together as a couple.

"It's been eight years which in Hollywood years is about 81 so there's extra points for that," he said.

Their relationship, or at least their domestic bliss, didn't start out very easy. Ashton admitted he was "extremely single" when he met Demi and it took a while for word to get around that he was taken.

"I was living with a buddy who refused to leave when Demi moved in," Ashton said of his early household moments with his brunette bombshell, whom he eventually married in 2005.

"But it was kind of a good thing," Ashton added. "It would be the middle of the night and there would be visitors and he would do a lot of intercepting for me! I wanted to keep the relationship private so [I] didn't put the word out and its pretty hard to slow that train down."

Will Nene Leakes & Kim Zolciak Ever Be Friends Again?

After part one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, it seemed obvious that NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak's relationship was irreparably shattered as the ladies revisited their nasty fight aboard that bus.

Yet on Sunday's reunion, the second and final part, Zolciak offered an olive branch (of sorts), telling host Andy Cohen that she couldn't deny that she wished Leakes well in her life. True, it wasn't an all-out declaration of friendship but, as Cohen pointed out, Zolciak seemed genuinely moved – even wistful – while watching a montage of her greatest hits and funniest moments with Leakes over the course of the season.

Leakes, however, sat impassively and didn't seem to share in Kim's sentiment at all. In fact, she said that she thought their friendship was over, definitively.

Before arriving at this détente (of sorts), which concluded a rather staid, drama-free reunion, the two did get into another round of she-said, she-said, arguing again about the origins of their fight.

Perhaps they really won't reconcile – though NeNe and Kim have certainly been down this road before. After watching Sunday's reunion special, tell us:
