Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron The "High School Musical" co-stars ended their five-year relationship in December and the actress thinks that because they had been together for such a long time, there was no question they would not want to have remained a part of one another's lives.

She said: "After being in a relationship with someone that long, you stay friends."

The brunette beauty has recently been romantically linked with her "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" co-star Josh Hutcherson but Vanessa insists there is nothing going on between them.

She told TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: "I'm single. Can't a girl have friends? Aww, I love him. We just did a movie together and we had the best time."

Vanessa, 22, can next be seen in fantasy action adventure movie "Sucker Punch" - which follows a group of tough girls trying to escape from a mental institution - and she admits she felt "empowered" after seeing the finished film for the first time.

Recalling seeing the movie, she told the new issue of Nylon magazine: "My energy, my spirits were so high that I literally felt like I had just walked out of a rock concert."

"When I saw it, I was literally like, 'Woo, yes! I can do anything! Yay! Go women!' Like, I feel so empowered."

David Arquette on 'Oprah': Sincere But Still Confused

In his first sit-down interview since leaving rehab, David Arquette revealed some doozies to Oprah, among them that he suspected his currently estranged wife Courtney Cox strayed during their marriage and that he felt dwarfed by her success. The actor also delved into his past history with alcohol and denied that he ever cheated on Cox.

Our body language expert chronicled Arquette's every move and he tells us that the actor meant what he said, but that he remains a very confused man.

"Overall, I'd say that he was sincere about what he was saying, but is still in a slightly confused place in his life, really trying hard to process it all, deal with his emotions and addictions, and do what he thinks is right regarding his family. There is some inner conflict present, and he has his work cut out for him, for sure," says body language expert Vincent Harris, author of 'The Productivity Epiphany.'

"This is very hard to fake. One aspect of this expression involved simultaneously pulling the eyebrows together, and upward," Harris says.

Later, when he addressed how he began to believe tabloid reports that Courtney was having an affair, David said "That made me angry!"

But Harris says. the expression David actually showed was one of disgust.

"This involves a 'crinkling' of the nose and flaring of the nostrils, much like you might see if someone had smelled some pungent aroma. We can't know if his disgust is about the tabloids, or about Courtney, but he certainly is disgusted about something when he recalls the rumors of her cheating," Harris says.

"As he said this, he was shaking his head 'no' ever so slightly, hinting at an incongruence between what he felt, and what he said," Harris says.

And when Oprah pulled out the big money question, will David and Courtney reconcile, the actor showed his confusion.

"Arquette starts saying 'Uhh...' It was this 'non-word' utterance on which his voice cracked, revealing a powerful emotion had been triggered by that question," Harris says.

But at the end of the show, when Oprah did what she does best and leaned in a little to ask David if he felt good about what he said, he was sincerely happy.

"His smile was sincere; the muscles around his eyes (orbicularis occuli and zygomatic major) were contracted. When someone smiles without the 'crow's feet' at the corners of their eyes (caused by the contraction of those muscles) their smile is forced, and does not signal true joy. Arquette's smile did; he was happy about what he said," Harris says.

Elizabeth Taylor improving but still hospitalized (AP)

LOS ANGELES – Elizabeth Taylor's health is improving, but the Oscar winner is still hospitalized in Los Angeles.

A spokeswoman for the 78-year-old actress says Taylor "has continued to show great improvement, and her family and friends are very pleased with her progress."

Publicist Jamie Cadwell said Friday that Taylor will remain under observation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center "for the time being." She was admitted more than a week ago.

Taylor is being treated for symptoms of congestive heart failure, a condition she disclosed in November 2004.

When it comes to evaluating her time spent on the Jersey Shore, Jenni "JWoww" Farley's biggest regret – unlike some of her costars – has nothing to do with a nasty night on the town or a not-too-sober stay in the "Smush Room."

Instead, the reality star is once again making her peace with Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, who brought the brawls this season.

"I actually regret the fights that I did get in with Sam because I was in the same position she was a few years ago," Farley said recently on Sirus radio's The Morning Mash Up!, referring to Giancola's up-and-down relationship with Ronnie Magro. "I had a boyfriend lie and cheat, and I did not believe my girlfriends when they told me."

Farley also knows a thing or two about rough breakups – something she addresses in her book, The Rules According to JWOWW: Shore-Tested Secrets on Landing a Mint Guy, Staying Fresh to Death, and Kicking the Competition to the Curb. She says she's currently dealing with "legal things" with ex-boyfriend Tom Lippolis.

"I came home [from the show], and I was like, 'What the hell is wrong with me?' " she says. "I was like, 'Why do I find guys like this?' "

But there is one person who always has her back, even when the cameras aren't rolling. Farley says her friendship with Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is the real deal, and the duo recently shot a pilot for a spin-off show that would document their antics outside of Seaside Heights, N.J.

"We talk every day," she says of their friendship. "I spent Christmas Eve with her and her family, and that's how we do. If I could take one thing out of the show, that would be a life-long friend."

Frankie Muniz and Girlfriend Still Together After Gun Incident

For a while, it looked like TV's Malcolm was in the middle of one big mess.

Last week, police investigated a disturbance at the Phoenix home of Frankie Muniz and his publicist girlfriend Elycia Turnbow. When it was all over the actor had handed over a gun to officers.

Muniz’s rep Lauren Tobin tells PEOPLE the duo now "are fine" and "as far as they are concerned, their issues are resolved."

The Malcolm in the Middle star, 25, and Turnbow, are "still very much a couple," Tobin says. "Neither one is interested in finger-pointing at the other. It was a situation that escalated beyond a point that it needed to be. If anything, they will look back at this as a learning opportunity."

Tobin also clarified reports that Muniz held a gun to his head during the argument with Turnbow.

"He was not suicidal," Tobin says, noting that Muniz’s gun was "voluntarily handed over" to authorities for safekeeping. Neither person was arrested and no charges were made.

Since Malcom ended in 2006, Muniz took a step back from Hollywood and concentrated his race car driving.

He then moved to Phoenix and joined the independent band You Hang Up early last year. Since the Feb. 11 incident, Muniz has resumed performing with the four-person rock group for which he's the drummer.

"He gets along great with the other guys," the band's manager, Todd Erickson says. "They’re friends in addition to being in a band together. They’re all a really good group of people."

Erickson describes the post-TV Muniz as "hard-working and multitalented" with "opportunities in a lot of different directions. I have nothing but good things to say about him."
