Tributes Flood In for Elizabeth Taylor

TRIBUTES FLOOD IN FOR ELIZABETH TAYLOR
Tributes have flooded in for the late Elizabeth Taylor in the wake of her death, with Elton John describing her as a ''Hollywood giant.''

The screen legend passed away at 1.28am on Wednesday morning (March 23, 2011) at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center - where she had been receiving treatment for the last few weeks for congestive heart failure - surrounded by her four children, Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd and Maria Burton.

Since the news, numerous stars who knew her, or admired her during her life have paid their respects.

Elton, 63, wrote on his twitter page: "We have just lost a Hollywood giant; more importantly, we have lost an incredible human being."

Whoopi Goldberg mourned the loss of her "diamond loving" friend on her Facebook page, thanking the "Cleopatra" star for helping her during her career.

She wrote: "Today my friend Elizabeth Taylor passed away. Oddly, we all knew this day was coming but still her passing took my breath away. She was a funny, loud, joke tellin', diamond loving, fantastic woman. She played a big role in shaping my life as Whoopi Goldberg. It really is the end of an era."

Michael Caine - who starred in the 1972 movie "Zee and Co" with Taylor - paid tribute to the person rather than the actress.

He tweeted: "So sad to hear about my beautiful friend Elizabeth Taylor she was a great human being."

The double-Oscar winning actress' representative has revealed her final moments were peaceful, and although her condition worsened at 6pm on Tuesday night (March 23, 2011) doctors had been positive about her illness.

The rep' said: "She died peacefully. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be."

As well as her four children, Taylor - who was married eight times to seven different men - is survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Although the madcap comedian hasn't been invited to the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey on April 24, he plans to attend dressed as the 84-year-old British monarch.

He joked: "I'm not invited. I'm going anyway though. I'm going to dress up as the queen. I'm going to say [puts on female voice], 'Hallo, I'm the queen. Happy wedding day William and Kate. Do it baby, kiss, kiss.'"

The 35-year-old funnyman - who is married to Katy Perry - even went on to describe how he would eventually reveal himself to be a man in his bizarre fantasy scenario.

In a TV interview with "Access Hollywood," he added: "Then I'll lift my skirt and I'll have no underwear on and everyone will go, 'The Queen's willy!' Get your laughing gear round that."

It's not the first time Russell - who is from Essex, South East England - has revealed his interest in the royal family, with the "Arthur" once admitting during a radio interview that he would love a title.

He said: "I'd like to be royal. I sometimes think, 'I'd like to marry into the royals.' It would be fun wouldn't it to be a little bit royal? I think I'd fit right in there, they're a lovely bunch."

"I'd like an honorary princehood or dukedom, or some sort of recognition from the royals for what I've done for them over the years."

Joan Collins Had Marriage Competition with Elizabeth Taylor

JOAN COLLINS HAD MARRIAGE COMPETITION WITH ELIZABETH TAYLOR
Joan Collins and Elizabeth Taylor competed over who could have the most husbands.

Joan Collins and Elizabeth Taylor The 77-year-old actress - who was a close friend of the screen legend, who died at Cedars-Sinai hospital aged 79 yesterday (March 23, 2011) - has revealed her divorce from Peter Holm in 1987 prompted Elizabeth, who was married eight times to seven different men, to write a letter boasting about her own conquests.

She joked: "The last time I got a divorce, she sent me a note and she said, 'I'm still ahead by three.' I sent one back saying, 'Don't worry Liz, I'm going to catch up.'"

"I actually didn't call her Liz. I always called her Elizabeth because she didn't like being called Liz. But I think people have a huge amount of respect for her. And the thing that was so amazing about her is that most women really liked her."

Joan - who is now married to theater company manager Percy Gibson - was a fan of Elizabeth before she knew her, and she kept scrapbooks containing pictures of the "Cleopatra" star.

During an appearance on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight," she revealed: "I remember when I first saw her, everybody wanted to look like her. When I first saw her, when she did 'A Date with Judy' when she was about 15 and everybody - all my friends, all of us at school, we all wanted to look like her. We all wanted to have the big eyebrows and we all wanted to have the black hair and the beauty mark."

"She was phenomenal and I kept a scrapbook on her, which is why it was so fascinating for me a few years later in Hollywood to actually meet her at MGM in the make-up room, and she was so sweet."

"I think that's something that a lot of people didn't know about her. She liked to salty turn of phrase but then us English actresses always did do that."

Queen Elizabeth II Should Lend Kate Middleton a Tiara for Ceremony (ContributorNetwork)

Kate Middleton's wedding dress has been the subject of much speculation since her engagement to Prince William in November, while her head dress has been largely ignored. What, exactly, will she wear atop her head? Will her attire feature only a veil, or will she don a regal tiara, as well?

Some media outlets, such as the Royal Wedding Insider, have suggested Queen Elizabeth II should offer to lend Kate a tiara from her royal collection.

When she married Prince Charles in 1981, Princess Diana's hair was adorned with the beautiful Spencer family tiara.

But because Kate is from a family of commoners, her family does not have royal jewels to offer.

If Queen Elizabeth II were to offer to lend a royal tiara to Kate, it would be as if Queen Elizabeth II were putting her official public stamp of approval on Prince William's marriage. After allegedly criticizing the couple for scaled-back arrangements, such as arriving at Westminster Abbey in a car rather than a carriage, Queen Elizabeth's public approval would do the couple and the monarchy good, allowing the perception on a united front.

But would a royal tiara conflict with Kate's image and brand of a down-to-earth, common Royal princess? Kate does, after all, come from an independently wealthy, coal-mining family.

Kate will need something borrowed, by traditional standards, and what better to borrow than a blessing and tiara from the queen herself?

Besides, the majority of common girls would love to wear a royal tiara for their wedding. A borrowed tiara itself would be a symbol of Kate's entire girl-next-door-to-princess story, putting a final stamp on her rise and inclusion into Britain's most prominent family.

Perhaps Queen Elizabeth II could lend Kate the fringe tiara, which Elizabeth herself borrowed from Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, when she married Prince Philip in 1947.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will marry at Westminster Abbey on April 29.

Shane cheated Elizabeth Hurley with Chloe Conrad

Shane cheated Elizabeth Hurley
Just a day after Elizabeth Hurley appeared in public with her new boyfriend, Shane Warne, on the horizon is new scandal. 26-year-old porn star, Chloe Conrad to the Britain’s Mirror revealed explicit text messages that Warne sent her and said that they spent a night at a time when the cricketer already walked with Liz Hurley.

Chloe says how Shane constantly begged her to meet him and reportedly slept together in the same room in Bentley hotel in London, in which he was later brought Elizabeth. “If Liz thought he changed, feeling is very deceiving. That night when he was with Liz in Bentley, he sent me a message. At no time I didn’t thought I was the only woman in his life. Everyone knows that Shane is not a man with whom you can have a connection. Liz is much older than me and should be smarter,” said a young porn star.

Elizabeth Hurley Feeling 'Sick' After Boyfriend's Latest Cheating Scandal

Feb 15th 2011 10:40AMEmail ThisIt seems that Elizabeth Hurley did not have such a wonderful Valentine's Day. The 45-year-old English actress has been in Melbourne, Australia, for the last week, holed up in the mansion of her current boyfriend, Aussie ex-cricketer Shane Warne.

Chloe Conrad, a 26-year-old porn star, just revealed explicit text messages that she claims Warne sent her AFTER he and Hurley began dating and also described her night of passion with the sportsman to an English tabloid. She claims their romp was so energetic it left her with, err, some chafing.
Hurley alluded to the new wrinkle in her relationship with Warne in a delightfully blunt Twitter message on Monday. "Happy Valentine's Day! Remember, love is like a roller-coaster ride -- sometimes it's exhilarating but sometimes u feel sick and want to get off."

Since that tweet, Hurley's Twitter account appears to have been disabled or at least suspended.

It's not the first time saucy text-messages have come between the new couple. They briefly parted in December when Warne admitted to sending more than 100 brazen texts to an Australian businesswoman. He apologized over Twitter, writing, "We are all childish, immature at times. It's about how you bounce back when things are tough."

The couple were forced to go public back in December when the still-married Hurley was spotted trysting with Warne at London hotels.

Hurley's trip down under has been anything but ordinary. She has been mainly confined to Warne's home which has been turned into a bunker with huge screens erected to thwart the paparazzi. The duo have ventured out to a wedding, where Hurley committed the social faux pas of wearing white, and lunch at a golf course, which required a police escort because of the crush of photographers.

Warne, who clearly adores Twitter as much as his paramour, did ask his followers where he should take Hurley for lunch. "Where is the sexiest place to take Elizabeth to lunch? Suggestions please? And no spaghetti on toast!!!"

The 'Austin Powers' star, whose high-profile 1990's relationship with Hugh Grant first propelled her to fame, is mom to an 8-year-old son, Damian, with her ex, millionaire Stephen Bing. She married Indian-German textile heir Arun Nayar in 2007.

It's good news for Elizabeth Taylor!

A week after checking into an L.A. hospital for symptoms associated with congestive heart failure, the Hollywood icon is showing marked improvement, PEOPLE has learned.

"Her medical team is gratified by her progress to date, and it is hoped and expected that this will continue over the next few days. For now, she will remain under their care in the hospital for continued monitoring."

While Taylor is enjoying visits from those close to her, "she is sleeping and resting a lot, which she really needs to recover her strength," the star's rep Sally Morrison tells PEOPLE. "Due to symptoms of congestive heart failure, she is still being monitored and continues to need rest to recover her strength. She did not have a heart attack."

Symptoms of congestive heart failure include difficulty breathing and fluid in the lungs.

Taylor, who underwent heart surgery in October 2009, appreciates support of her loyal fans. As the statement continues: "Friends and fans around the world should be reassured that Elizabeth Taylor is in good hands and receiving the best possible care from her skilled and dedicated doctors and nurses."
