Douglas' Health Continuing to Improve

DOUGLAS' HEALTH CONTINUING TO IMPROVE
Michael Douglas' health is ''continuing to improve.''

The 66-year-old actor - who was pictured looking frail after completing chemotherapy for throat cancer in November - is making a steady recovery and starting to look more like his old self.

His representative Allen Burry said: "He's doing fine, his health continues to improve and I can see the difference."

The "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" star revealed in January that he is in remission for stage four throat cancer and his medical treatment was so harsh his weight plummeted to 139 lbs.

However, despite his health now improving the star - who has children Dylan, 10, and seven-year-old Carys with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones - is having regular check-ups and isn't rushing back to work.

Allen told RadarOnline.com: "He goes in once a month for a check-up, and he will do that for the first year. The appointments are just to monitor how he's doing, and so far he's clear, and they're pleased with his improvement."

"It takes a while so he isn't working yet, and won't start doing movies until the fall."

Around the time he announced his illness, Michael confessed he couldn't forgive the doctors who at first failed to notice that he had a tumor.

He said: "I understand it's a very difficult cancer tumor to find. It was under the tongue and it's unusual, but I'm still doing my homework on it. I would say I have not forgiven... stage two would have been nicer than stage four."

Phil Collins Quits Music Due to Health Problems

Phil CollinsPhil Collins has decided to bow out from the business that made him. The British singer has reportedly told FHM that he is leaving the music industry due to health problems he's experienced for several years.

The 'Sussudio' entertainer revealed that years of sitting hunched behind his drum kit have left him with an array of medical issues. Collins' ailments range from hearing loss to a dislocated vertebra, and nerve damage in the same hands he uses to hold drumsticks, making performing for fans an otherwise painful experience.

Collins apologizes that his choice to retire may upset fans, considering the more than positive run he's had throughout his career. "I'm sorry that it was all so successful," he stated. "I honestly didn't mean it to happen like that. It's hardly surprising that people grew to hate me."

While loyal supporters will have to get their Phil Collins fix by relying on his past catalog of tunes, the performer has a somewhat different view of how he's perceived in the music business. "I don't really belong to that world and I don't think anyone's going to miss me," Collins said. "I'm much happier just to write myself out of the script entirely."

It's good news for Elizabeth Taylor!

A week after checking into an L.A. hospital for symptoms associated with congestive heart failure, the Hollywood icon is showing marked improvement, PEOPLE has learned.

"Since being admitted, there has been steady improvement in her condition, and over the weekend she has had visits from family and close friends," says a statement from reps for the legendary actress, 78, who suffers from an ongoing heart condition. "Her medical team is gratified by her progress to date, and it is hoped and expected that this will continue over the next few days. For now, she will remain under their care in the hospital for continued monitoring."

While Taylor is enjoying visits from those close to her, "she is sleeping and resting a lot, which she really needs to recover her strength," the star's rep Sally Morrison tells PEOPLE. "Due to symptoms of congestive heart failure, she is still being monitored and continues to need rest to recover her strength. She did not have a heart attack."

Symptoms of congestive heart failure include difficulty breathing and fluid in the lungs.

Taylor, who underwent heart surgery in October 2009, appreciates support of her loyal fans. As the statement continues: "Friends and fans around the world should be reassured that Elizabeth Taylor is in good hands and receiving the best possible care from her skilled and dedicated doctors and nurses."
