No Drugs or Alcohol Involved in David Arquette Car Accident
David Arquette, who just recently finished a stint in rehab, was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he crashed his car in a head-on collision on Friday, PEOPLE reports. Beverly Hills Police Dept. spokeswoman told the magazine: "No alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash whatsoever. It appears that the accident will be Mr. Arquette's fault for driving on the wrong side of the roadway."
Arquette also let his friends and fans know he hadn't relapsed. "Refused all pain medication-may the record state- still sober!" the actor Tweeted from his hospital bed.

David Arquette was injured in a head-on car collision this afternoon, TMZ reports. According to TMZ, the actor was driving in West Hollywood when his vehicle swerved into on-coming traffic.
An eyewittness told the site that a car in front of Arquette suddenly stopped, forcing him to steer into traffic and causing the accident.
Arquette was seen lying on the ground bleeding, before being taken to the hospital.
Update: Arquette's rep tells UsMagazine.com that the actor is okay. "He's fine," says the rep. "He is on his way to be treated."

David Arquette is recovering well from a crash that was experienced on Friday, and boasts that during the treatment refused painkillers. “He’s good. He is on the way to recover,” said Arquette’s spokesman. 39-year-old actor personally addressed the fans, via Twitter and he made it clear that he would like to thank them for caring. “I refused all pain medication; let him enter the record that I’m still sober. It is a miracle that a woman that I hit was not injured. Thank God!” he wrote on his Twitter profile.

Wow, there’s a man who has a few regrets. Courteney Cox’s ex took to Twitter yesterday afternoon to tell the world, “Remember to wear your seatbelt-wish I was,” after crashing his car head-on into another vehicle. The incident happened on Friday afternoon in Beverly Hills – and according to reports, David’s car unexpectedly headed straight out of the correct lane and into oncoming traffic. He’s said to have ploughed straight into a Jeep, leaving both vehicles were severely damaged! Eek!Thankfully no one was seriously hurt and David’s spokesman commented, “He is fine and heading to hospital for treatment.” While on-scene police confirmed the other driver “suffered minor to moderate injuries.”Jeez, what was going on there, eh? Obviously the question of whether or not he was boozed up will cross all our minds, but thanks to the good old medium of Twitter, David went on to say he was totally sober. The "Scream 4" actor - whose separation from former "Friends" star Courteney Cox Arquette was announced last October - reportedly swerved to avoid a car that stopped suddenly and crashed into a black SUV traveling in the opposite direction. According to TMZ David - who was driving a silver Cadillac - was spotted lying on the ground bleeding at the scene before being rushed to hospital by ambulance.
The passenger-side airbag in the SUV was deployed in the incident, while the hood of David's car was damaged.
David, 39, left the Betty Ford rehab facility in California at the end of January after four weeks of treatment for "alcohol and other issues" and revealed he was hoping to rekindle his relationship with Courteney.
David - who has a six-year-old daughter, Coco, with the 46-year-old actress - said: "I'd love for it to work out. We truly love each other with all our hearts. Whether it's as friends or as husband and wife, I know that I'll be with her my whole life."
"I want her to be happy. If me being the best person I can be doesn't make her happy in a partner, in who she needs, whatever she's looking for, that's still to be answered."
"She's my best friend, and I love her with all my heart."

Dimbleby began working for the BBC as a news reporter in 1961 Veteran broadcaster David Dimbleby has been given a lifetime achievement prize at the Royal Television Society's (RTS) journalism awards.The Question Time host was described by judges as a "giant of television journalism" at the ceremony in London.
Sky News was named news channel of the year for a second time in a row, while ITV News at Ten was awarded news programme of the year.
Presenter of the year went to Channel 4 newsreader Jon Snow.
Snow, who beat Dimbleby and Sky News's Anna Botting to the prize, was praised by the judges for his "beautifully written and powerfully observed" scripts.
The judges' award went to the BBC, ITV and Sky negotiating teams for the Prime Ministerial Debates in the run-up to last May's General Election.
They said it was a "genuinely historic agreement and in most people's eyes the debates more than lived up to their billing".
BBC Northern Ireland collected both the Nations and Regions Current Affairs and News Event, and Scoop of the Year prizes for Spotlight: The Iris Robinson Investigation.
While Sky's Alex Crawford picked up a second consecutive television journalist of the year prize.
Overall, the BBC and ITV both picked up four awards each on the night, while Sky and Channel 4 each won three.
David Arquette on 'Oprah': Sincere But Still Confused
In his first sit-down interview since leaving rehab, David Arquette revealed some doozies to Oprah, among them that he suspected his currently estranged wife Courtney Cox strayed during their marriage and that he felt dwarfed by her success. The actor also delved into his past history with alcohol and denied that he ever cheated on Cox.
Our body language expert chronicled Arquette's every move and he tells us that the actor meant what he said, but that he remains a very confused man.
"Overall, I'd say that he was sincere about what he was saying, but is still in a slightly confused place in his life, really trying hard to process it all, deal with his emotions and addictions, and do what he thinks is right regarding his family. There is some inner conflict present, and he has his work cut out for him, for sure," says body language expert Vincent Harris, author of 'The Productivity Epiphany.'
"This is very hard to fake. One aspect of this expression involved simultaneously pulling the eyebrows together, and upward," Harris says.
Later, when he addressed how he began to believe tabloid reports that Courtney was having an affair, David said "That made me angry!"
But Harris says. the expression David actually showed was one of disgust.
"This involves a 'crinkling' of the nose and flaring of the nostrils, much like you might see if someone had smelled some pungent aroma. We can't know if his disgust is about the tabloids, or about Courtney, but he certainly is disgusted about something when he recalls the rumors of her cheating," Harris says.
"As he said this, he was shaking his head 'no' ever so slightly, hinting at an incongruence between what he felt, and what he said," Harris says.
And when Oprah pulled out the big money question, will David and Courtney reconcile, the actor showed his confusion.
"Arquette starts saying 'Uhh...' It was this 'non-word' utterance on which his voice cracked, revealing a powerful emotion had been triggered by that question," Harris says.
But at the end of the show, when Oprah did what she does best and leaned in a little to ask David if he felt good about what he said, he was sincerely happy.
"His smile was sincere; the muscles around his eyes (orbicularis occuli and zygomatic major) were contracted. When someone smiles without the 'crow's feet' at the corners of their eyes (caused by the contraction of those muscles) their smile is forced, and does not signal true joy. Arquette's smile did; he was happy about what he said," Harris says.
David Cross Pessimistic About 'Arrested Development' Movie Prospects
An "Arrested Development" movie may be a priority in the eyes of former exec producer Ron Howard and creator Mitch Hurwitz, but David Cross doesn't sound confident that that's enough to make it happen.
Cross thinks the film's premise sounds "awesome" and knows that many of his former castmates want to get the cameras rolling, but as of Saturday night at the Independent Spirit Awards, he didn't expect to be playing Tobias Fünke again anytime soon.
"I'll believe it when I see it," Cross told MTV News.
Howard and company have been discussing the possibility of putting the Fox comedy on the big screen for years, but every time a wave of optimism starts gaining steam, someone comes out to express doubt. This time around, that person is Cross, and it will likely take more than a phone call from Hurwitz or Michael Cera's positive attitude to convince him that the "Arrested Development" movie will ever exist.
"Not even when I'm standing there shooting it," Cross said. "Not even when it's wrapped. Not even when I get to go do [automated dialogue replacement]. Not even when I'm at the theater and it's playing. The next day — that's when I'll believe it."
So, how long will it be before producers are putting Cross on that long road toward making him a believer?
"I have no idea," he said.
Cera, Will Arnett and Jason Bateman have all come out in favor of pushing ahead with the movie, but even if Hurwitz believes production can begin in 2011, Cross needs proof.
"OK, great! Show me," he said. "There's, like, nine people involved."
Basically, if fans of the show want reassurance that the logistics required to bring everyone back are feasible, they won't find it in an interview with Cross. The "Kung Fu Panda 2" and "Megamind" actor just doesn't have faith right now, even if he would love to see "Arrested Development" return.
"I'm realistically optimistic," he confessed, "which is to say, not that optimistic."

David Archuleta Dropped by Record Label
'American Idol' season 7 runner-up David Archuleta is facing a major setback in his once-promising post-'AI' career. The 20-year-old's bad news went public yesterday, according to the Los Angeles Times: Jive Records says they've dropped the singer from the label after three years, with a company spokesperson confirming, "David was released from our roster."
Archuleta was just 16 when he lost 'Idol' (bested by David Cook), but he won countless fans who adored his sweet smile and formidable vocal skill. Still, the record business is all about numbers: Archuleta's 2008 self-titled debut, featuring the hit single 'Crush,' was certified platinum and sold almost a million copies worldwide. Yet that may get chalked up to beginner's luck, as his sophomore studio album has struggled to rack up 60,000 in sales since its release a few months ago.
The young crooner, while upbeat about his new album, also told PopEater at the time that he'd enjoy going to college someday. Think that will be his next move? No reaction yet from Archuleta's camp about the sudden about-face from his once supportive label, or what's next for the singer.
Earlier this week, just a day before the world learned he was parting ways with Jive, Archleta tweeted a cryptic message about moving forward with his career: "Decisions. They are scary things before knowing what could happen after you make them, but I'm excited for what the future holds."

He had the looks, the humility and the vocal talent that made many think a life of superstardom was all but guaranteed. But just three years after David Archuleta charmed audiences as the runner-up on the seventh season of "American Idol," the 20-year-old performer has been dropped by Jive Records, his label since 2008, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hot on the heels of his appearance on "Idol" and buoyed by the popularity of his single "Crush," Archuleta's self-titled debut album sold more than 750,000 copies in America and nearly a million worldwide, rocketing the crooner to #2 on the Billboard 200.
His second, and newest, album has failed to ignite, however. Released on October 5, 2010, The Other Side of Down has stalled at just over 60,000 units.
It's a certain setback, but if the younger Archuleta has anything to say about it, not a permanent one.
"I hope to always be myself, except more mature and knowing more," Archuleta said in an interview with MTV News in 2008. "Hopefully I'll still be making music five years from now. I don't want to give it up. I want to continue on with it, and if there's a chance to make more albums, I definitely want to do that."
Despite being pegged early as the eventual winner, Archuleta lost in the season-seven finale of "American Idol" to David Cook. He received 44 percent of more than 97 million votes.
