Adele: The Brit School saved me from teen pregnancy!

There’s a tough moment in every 15 year old girl’s life where she has to choose between becoming a teen mother and attending The Brit School. At least, according to Adele who claims that if she hadn’t attended the prestigious academy, teen pregnancy would almost certainly have been on the cards.

The North London born singer, whose second album 21 is currently holding tight at Number 1 both sides of the Atlantic claims it was her attendance at The Brit School that gave her the inspiration and motivation to achieve the worldwide success she knows today. Speaking to the News of the World, Adele commented:

"I hate to think where I'd have ended up if I hadn't gone to The Brit School. It's quite inspiring to be around 700 kids who want to be something - rather than 700 kids who just wanna get pregnant so they get their own flat”.

She went on to compare her school to the 1980 hit movie Fame recalling ‘you got people doing their ballet stretches and singers having sing-offs. I'd rather that than someone pulling out a knife!" We think most people would, Adele. Except possibly the cast of West Side Story who opted to combine the two...

Adele also commented “I remember wanting to go to Sylvia Young Theatre School because Baby Spice went there but my mum couldn't afford it.” Quite why Baby Spice with her frequently weak vocals and questionable acting ability should act as a form of inspiration, we’re not sure. But we’re glad it did.
