McFly's Dougie goes to rehab

The crowd of celebs checking themselves into rehab these days seems to be getting younger and younger. Our beloved Dougie Poynter from McFly has been revealed as the latest victim, after spending the last four weeks in the Priory following a dramatic break-up with The Saturdays' Frankie Sandford.

Fellow bandmate, Tom Fletcher tweeted:

'He's just been having a tough time lately and needed a few weeks rest so he's fighting fit and ready to slap that bass for you on tour. X.'

McFly’s next tour ‘Above the Noise’ is due to commence in a couple of weeks. We’re sure that McFly’s scores of female fans will be delighted to hear both that Dougie will still be joining the band on the road and also of his new found singledom! If Twitter is anything to go by (and let’s face it, it is), the singer’s numerous fans are already rallying around to offer their support and good wishes to the recovering singer.

Dougie and Frankie split at the end of last year shortly before Frankie began dating West Ham United footballer Wayne Bridge who insiders say she is smitten with.

Angsting about the break-up, Dougie commented

“'What makes it worse is getting constant reminders.

When it's a regular person it's bad enough because you hear their name once in a while, or your mutual friends see them.

'But I see [Frankie] bloody everywhere! In magazines, on the TV, on the radio. It's horrible!'

We share the sentiment. Sorry Dougie, we really do hope that you make a speedy recovery and get better soon. But, don't worry, there are far worse things in this world to be depressed about than Frankie Sanford. Think about your upcoming tour and the hoardes of hot female fans just waiting to meet you and tell us that doesn't bring a smile to your face!
