Colin Firth sinks his teeth into vampire role!

After scooping the ‘Best Actor’ award at the Oscars last week, Colin ‘Can Do No Wrong’ Firth commented ‘I have a feeling my career’s just peaked’.

We beg to differ.

Our sources inform us that Colin is still hotly in demand across Hollywood. In a role that is a world apart from his performance as King George VI in The King’s Speech, his next part will be a creepy vampire called Stoker. Before you worry that Colin is suffering from some sort of mid-life crisis and has signed up to the next Twilight film, fear not. The film, also entitled Stoker, is actually based on the classic horror novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. Just think Mr Darcy with fangs.

The film will revolve around a girl named India, played by Alice In Wonderland star Mia Wasikowska, and her mother, played by Nicole Kidman,  who are visited by a mysterious uncle (Colin) after India’s father dies. Due to be released in 2012, Stoker has been written by US hit show Prison Break star Wentworth Miller.

However, don’t get too excited at Colin finally enacting that fantasy of sinking his teeth into a woman’s neck. Apparently this will be a vampire movie with a twist. Deciding that the traditional “bite ‘em and suck their blood” routine is a bit stale, Stoker has come up with some inventive new ways to slay his victims. These include stabbing one victim in the neck with scissors and beating another to death with a tree branch.

In all honesty, we can’t help but feel that this sounds a bit comical but realistically, when Colin is starring, we’re watching!
